Mary's 7 Layer Salad

Today's Blog Here

Ok for those who don't know me I am not a conventional cooker. I like to experiment and my hubby loves it! I add things that most people would turn there noses up at and then find that when they try it the dish has an amazing taste. Things like my cranberry pork chops, sauerkraut pie, homemade hamburger helper, etc.
Today I decided to tackle the 7 layer salad.. I found a recipe I liked because she tries new things to, you can find Ree's Recipe here
Mary's Recipe at bottom of pictures.....

1/2 CUP OF MAYO , 1/2 CUP SOUR CREAM , PINCH X3 OF PARSLEY, 1/8 TSP CELERY SEED

Recipe:
Start with dressing first as it has to sit to meld together....1/2 C of Mayo, 1/2 C of Sour Cream & 3 pinches of parsley flakes oh almost forgot 1/8 tsp. celery seed...mix together and set in fridge for a few hours this is about half your set time for your dish.
In a large glass bowl, layer the ingredients in order.
2 cups of Kale, chopped
1 cup of spinach, rinsed and chopped, dry well
1 cup of red leaf lettuce
1 cup of green leaf lettuce
press down on these a little bit so there is room for more
sprinkle little salt and pepper, lightly on lettuce
8 whole hard boiled eggs, sliced or chopped (I used brown eggs much more tasty)
1 lb of Bacon, cooked and chopped (Note when I cooked the bacon I added 10 whole mushrooms, sliced)
4 whole tomatoes, chopped
1 bunch green onions, sliced
1 bag (10Oz.) green peas, partially thawed
Dressing
1 cup of grated cheese
When you have it all layered and ya get done admirin' your beautiful work..put a little plastic on it and set in fridge for a few hours...serve for Supper/Lunch or Dinner.
UPDATE TO SALAD ****YUMMY**** This dish will feed 4 healthy eaters twice!!
We took the beautiful dish and dumped it in this large tupperware bowl to mix...had so much in the other it was spring loaded to make a mess!
