New Addition

Image
While our remodel is in process, we made an executive decision to purchase a shed to convert into my studio. Like this one... It will be very similar to this one in that the door will be in that end without the two windows next to it. Two windows on the side with shutters and one on the other end. It will have two four foot loft areas and we will finish it inside! I am excited!! We are putting it here.... Easy access to electric and we plan on building a deck to join these two units.  See the starts of the unfinished out house out back......and I will have a full view of my garden too!  Getting closer..... We have quite a few of unfinished projects going BUT this tends to be a pattern with us. We buckle down, get each and every one done eventually! We can hope that we will have it all done by the end of this year! Would be great!! Love hearing from ya!!!! Storage Preparation

Image
We have been busy busy bus-sayyyyy!! Oh my lord! Today I will share what we have done with the storm shelter/root cellar.... Mtn Man wanted to get some ventilation going inside this unit so he cut out a hole in the top and added a PVC pipe to the top...bolted it and sealant in place! Added screen to the top to keep the bugs and birds out! And a cute license plate cap to the top! We also added plastic to the outside of the whole container ...getting it ready for the final dirt burial! Wahoo!! Love hearing from ya!!!! MIA

Sorry been real busy with family shindig! It was a great meet and greet! Family that has never met each other! There were tears, laughs and a lot of chit chat! *********************************************************** Today I finally got my maters, peppers and peas in the ground! A walk in the garden revealed some volunteers again this year! Love hearing from ya!!!! FOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK TOO! https://www.facebook.com/adventuresofmylife Copyright © 2015 M.E. Sunday Passage

Let the saints be joyful in the glory and beauty [which God confers upon them]; let them sing for joy upon their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their throats and a two-edged sword in their hands. —Psalm 149:5-6 Love hearing from ya!!!! Sausage Links

Image
Years ago, I really had no idea how to cook these little buggers! A friend of mine from Iowa taught me how! He said the best way is to brown them then simmer them in a little liquid! Viola' Well, Mtn Man and I picked some up the other day. I had some "company"(those who visit us) beer on hand, Coors Light, to simmer these in. They were so yummy! Served them on a hoagie bun...perfect size for the little buggers! Be sure to tune in next week for a peek at our weekend....hint....meet & greet with relatives never met! Eeeeekkkk so exciting!! Meatball Stew

Image
I started with meatballs in the bottom of a stew pot. Browning them in olive oil along with chopped onions(1 Medium) then added mushrooms(full canister) to cook too! Added a can of rinsed black beans and 4 fresh chopped tomatoes. I let this cook together with a mixed pepper as the seasoning until the tomatoes started looking a little cooked. Serve with cheese on top and a spinach tortilla! Enjoy! Love hearing from ya!!!! FOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK TOO! https://www.facebook.com/adventuresofmylife Copyright © 2015 M.E. Change of Plans

Image
We, FIL and Us, went for a ride this last weekend. It was so nice! Sorry did not get ANY pics..LOL Mtn Man and I decided we would ride the next day in the evening so we put the big boys in Lyfa's winter pasture to hold them. Well it did not work out for us to go for a ride the next day. Life got in the way! I am sure you see those two bales in there that are dark looking.....those are no good! So had to get a fresh bale out for them Monday! Usually not a big deal but Monday's storms were on top of us ALL DAY! 2" of rain in 12 hrs and yes we were out there fixing the "boys" up with feed! Fresh bale made them very happy although they would rather eat the sweet green grass coming up! Crazy amount of rain dropped on our heads....three change of clothes later, we were in for the night! Garden Cheating

Image
Because we had our crooked little house all tore up this year, we made an executive decision to buy our plants this year. Heirloom still but just from the store! Ha Love hearing from ya!!!! Gardening Plans

Image
Our next step was adding the cattle panels for the tomatoes and the peas to grow on. This year we decided to do it BEFORE we planted the goods! Ha Ha And we have decided to expand our Asparagus beds....Wahoo!! Can you see my strawberry bed in the background...it is considerably smaller now than it was! They grew like crazy!! We flipped the garden this year...potatoes and green beans will be planted on the other side this year and ground crops like beets, carrots etc. will be planted in the fall again. I am sure we will have all kinds of volunteer "whatevers" this year like we did last, so not planning on planting a bunch! Kind of a grow "whatever" garden this year! Frosty this morning, again! Thought the frost was done but I guess not! Still waiting it out to plant! Last year it was the 19th of April when we planted......ho hum! Love hearing from ya!!!! Coffee Break

Image
We did something a little different from our usual work, work, work around our farm! We went and had coffee with a few of the locals! Special Guest: Jason T. Smith US Representative for the 8th District of Missouri. I really liked him!! He is a man who likes to do things by the book and believes wholeheartedly in our constitutional rights as citizens. Believes that our Gov't has encumbered the little guy way to long such as the EPA, IRS, etc forcing businesses to go out of country. Costing jobs for those who are left behind. We also discussed infrastructure of the rural areas we live in to help bring in business to our county. We also discussed the Obamacare that has wreaked havoc on all of us!! He is the 2nd youngest in Congress and seems to have it together! Will be keeping an eye on this guy!! Love hearing from ya!!!! Spring Clean Up

Image
Shorty Dog got his bi-annual haircut...doesn't he just look handsome! Hehehe have to tell him that or else he goes away pouty!  Yesterday was the day to tackle the garden.... he gave it a roto going over after putting more mulch that has been setting for some time! I love seeing the fresh dirt! Smells like planting...almost! We are still having some chilly nights yet...pretty soon tho! Today we will go over it one more time after it dries out a bit from the morning dew! Have a great day! Love hearing from ya!!!!
