All Tied Up

Image
I am looking out the window and white stuff is falling out of the sky, again! I just keep reminding myself that it is February.  I did see a little hope that spring is coming.....despite the snows best effort my daffodil bulbs are popping up everywhere. ****************************************************************************** The other day I ran across something I hadn't seen before. Arm Knitting ! Have you heard of such a thing? I guess it is the new kraze for making infinity scarves and blankets. I watched this video as I am visual kind of person and I caught on quickly. So I went to work making a lap blanket last night only took me two hours. It was fun! I am all fingers and thumbs when it comes to working with needles and hooks. My bio mother tried to teach me on numerous occasions but I just couldn't master the skill whatsoever! This arm knitting I got! After researching it more found more ideas on yarn ( I used what I have plenty of) and what they do with it b...

Out With It

This morning Mtn Man mentioned that he would like to get that locust tree in the front yard out of the way while the ground is frozen so we don't make ruts with the tractor. Okie Dokie after a quick run into town to turn in our contract bids we did just that! By the by we should here by the 9th whether we got the bid or not....praying we do. Mtn Man fell the tree and then took the tractor to clean up the mess. It turned out to be a 58 yr old tree no wonder it was falling apart a piece at a time. Me, well not really anything to do but be there in case something happened. We like to be each others support when doing these big projects just in case! Pics of the project....   ********************************************************************** I did get a little excitement today. I noticed Snickers the goat has made a bag!! Wippee!! While we were in town we picked up another lick tub for them. Boy howdy when they figured out tha...

Running The Drive

We still have snow. In fact, it has been snow flurries all day. Nothin' stickin' around but here nonetheless. It was cold last night and first thing I hear this morning is that dang goat, Snickers. Maw Maw come give me grain Maw Maw. I had coffee first maybe two cups then went out to do my chores. I think she may go down the road after she has her babies and they are weined. I just about can't stand that cryin' in our little Serenity Valley. If momma (me) is upset the whole valley is upset! I had to laugh at myself cuz it reminded me of a post I read the other day on Krazo Acres about her goats screamin too! I laughed and laughed at that post.... http://krazoacres.blogspot.com/2015/02/gha-goat-haters-anonymous.html Can you see it? I can cuz it happens here regular like! LOL! Even caught Mtn Man yellin back at her to shut up. Gets under ones skin and makes you cringe like nails on a chalkboard! I can't fix it and can't ignore it....makes my ears hurt! Anyh...

Did you get this notice on your dashboard? https://support.google.com/blogger/answer/6170671?p=policy_update&hl=en&rd=1 I don't think I have anything naughty on my blog anywhere? Well we shall see what comes of it......glad to see they are taking some sort of moral stand tho' ....Go Blogger!   Well the snow is still on the ground for those you who are wondering...glistens in the sunshine! Yes Icy still on top. Today got up to 40* which was nice. We are expecting more snow/ice over the weekend. Today we ran into Cape to see grandma J. She is doing well. She is getting tired of being couped up in the home but knows there isn't much else she can do. While in Cape we stopped off at Staples and Best Buy to buy parts and pieces to fix our two laptops. I watched how hard drives were changed in my desktop and thought how hard could it be in the others. Not very! Did have to buy new software for them. Right now they are working beautifully. The only thing is now we...

Horse Wallet

Image
Yesterday we popped over to the folks and had a bit of fellowship with them along with D & R our friends. Fun was had by all. Sat around and told all kinds of stories, food and such. The wind was blowing so cold that the guys didn't sit out on the porch to long smoking their pipes (this is their usual when we visit). I was happy to see the horses....of course I took lots of pics! Will share them in a minute.  First I have to tell ya my FIL made me for an early early birthday present a new wallet. I am proud of this...it turned out beautiful! The best part is the care and love I know went into it....well at least I think? (wink wink, LOL!) Oh he is always harassing me. I guess it is like he says I am his one and only DIL. His favorite DIL! LOL! Ok Ok here is the wallet... He could make one for you too if you like...email me for details! For those of you who look for a horse fix ( Gail Atthefarm ) here are those pics Curly has his mother'...

Sunday Passage

41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny. 43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, o...

The weatherman got it right this time. On top of our 9" of snow we now have a layer of ice about 1/4" thick. Which makes everything pretty but dangerous! We are surrounded by trees in our valley. Lots of cracking and falling going on. Kind of cool to hear! Included in these pics to follow are Mtn Man's version of ice creepers. They work awesome! ***************************************************************************** Current bead project: Toodles!   If you want to leave a COMMENT please EMAIL me (MARYE.MASTERSON@GMAIL.COM) Love hearing from ya!
