Woodhenge

Image
Mtn Man humor strikes again! When you drive up to our place you see this.... instead of Stonehenge it is a Woodhenge. ****************************************************************************** Caught these guys and gals headed south yesterday..... **************************************************************************** And it is official we had our first killing frost on Wed night. The temps are suppose to drop down into the twenties tonite. We are prepared...wood is loaded into the house for our warm night. Last but not least by any measure, today is our 1 yr anniversary away from the ranch job in Montana. There's are a lot of the job that we miss, mostly the cattle but there are a lot of the job that we do not miss nor want to repeat ever again!! We left on Halloween night so exhausted. So much negative in the place and the situation. For example we rented a uhaul trailer to pack whatever we had left in the house,, you know the odds and ends. We were not goi...

Grave Walker

Image
I was privileged to participate in the Stones and Stories in Missoula Montana years ago. I told the story of one who resides in the cemetery. I had a blast! If you get the chance to do a cemetery walk in your area do go. It is fun to learn of others lives. If you want to leave a COMMENT please EMAIL me (MARYE.MASTERSON@GMAIL.COM) Love hearing from ya! Emu Art

Image
These persnickity beautiful critters lay eggs like other fowls. A lady by the name of Sue from Montana creates beautiful art from the egg shells. She used a dremel and paint. They are beautiful especially in person. I was given permission to take these pictures. I believe she sells these too. Building A Shed

Image
I guess I take for granted that we know how to build, LOL, mostly how to make something that looks good anyhow. We are no experts but if need be, we can put something together with just a little bit of wood and some nails/screws. With a whole lot of motivation and ingenuity  we can get it up quickly!  That said, I was thinking about this. I asked others what they thought of me putting up a tutorial of sorts on how to build a shed. Now I say of sorts because I am NOT going to tell ya exactly how to do it but instead will give ya some ideas on how we built ours. I think everybody that builds has their way of doing things, some work, some don't. I have pictures for some of this...... BUILDING A SHED: We started by measuring out the spot where we  wanted the posts(key to knowing this measurement is knowing what size you would like the shed) to go on our outside line of the property boundary(first finding that line cuz there isn't a fence line yet).    ...

Ebola-Airborne Potential?

I was reading an article (Gov't Docs 1995) that proved to me that this virus has the strong potential to go airborne. As fast as it seems to be mutating I am convinced it will be airborne over the cold winter which helps fuel the transmission. Somewhere Mtn Man read that the white coats predict by January there could be 1.4 million dead from this virus! Please read link...... http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1997182/?page=1 (CNN)  -- Today, the Ebola virus spreads only through direct contact with bodily fluids, such as blood and vomit. But some of the nation's top infectious disease experts worry that this deadly virus could mutate and be transmitted just by a cough or a sneeze. "It's the single greatest concern I've ever had in my 40-year public health career," said Dr. Michael Osterholm, director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota.   "I can't imagine anything in my career -- an...

Ephesians 6:13 Amplified Bible (AMP) 13  Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist  and  stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place]. Goat Shed & A Walk With Dogs

Image
We now have a roof on the goat shed. Some "batting" on the one side, need to cut more lumber for the rest to be installed and the doors need made too. Was thinking of doing a little tutorial on this shed, maybe later in the week. This shed cost us about $50 to build, if we had to buy everything probably would have cost us about $750 or more.  ******************************************************************************* Me and the dogs took off down the drive for a walk that I much needed. Sometimes ya just gotta go!  Of course I took my camera along it is so beautiful here this time of year! Enjoy!  Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig!
