Adventures Of Life!

Fun was had by all!! There was a blackpowder shoot, tomahawk throw(no pics), campfire time (lots) and horseback riding! And let's not forget a ton of food for all!! The weather got hot for everybody so they decided not to worry about traditional wear but had some accent items on to get the feel of it all! By mid day they were sweating themselves silly when they were wearing their gear on the first day. The decision was made to not worry so much about that. They did go over what a mountain man carries in his gear, went over firestarter gear and a lot of other important things you should have in leather carry bag. They went over how you should set up different style tents like the diamond tent versus the wedge tent. TP etiquette which is really important when camping out in one! Fun was had by all! Well the guys decided they were going to have a Rondy this weekend in preparation for more in the future! So it is this weekend....... Starting today..... It's a start! Tomorrow it will get rollin'. I was thinkin it probably is time for some Farm News! So here it goes.... The morning and days have turned off to be cooler. The evenings in the 50's and the days are in the upper 70's and lower 80's. Wonderful weather!! Heavy Dew in the mornin's!   I think the bugs know their time is limited so they are making their last hurra's doing what they do best "buggin ya"! ******************************************************************************* Mtn Man has been working on his shop a little. He is trying to get it mouse proof. One of the things he is doing now is putting in "squirrel frustrators" as he calls them. They are just little boards in the roof line to cover that little space. Well it has been a bit exciting around here! Those storms I was talking about coming in, DID with a bang! Lots of Ground Lightening!! I had already gone around and unplugged all the electronics but failed to unplug the phone. I am glad I wasn't talking on it! Not a fan of talking to anybody while it is storming anyhow!  Here is what happened....the phone cord that goes from your phone base to the wall (for those of you who can remember home phones anyhow). This cord and the base are now shredded, ruined completely! Look for yourself! I had just stepped out of the room when I heard what sounded like a gun shot! Shorty who had been on the bed already upset from the storm, came slinking out of the room. I picked him up to check him and no injuries, thank God! Then could smell the burning wire and still had no idea what it was! I looked around trying to find smoke...no smoke but heavy wire smell! So I finally got my wits about me and realized the phone answering machine lig...

We moved the girls today! Out to the old goat pen. Storms are coming by tonite and really wanted them to have the choice of getting under shelter if they need to! **************************************************************************** I could smell Fall in the air the other day! So I have been a bit distant lately. I apologize was just putting all my energies into other parts of my life. The Jamberry Party I had on FB was a TOTAL SUCCESS!!! Thanks to all of the 80+ attendees!! Yesterday I was called out to look over some horses that are in dire need of care. The woman ended up forfeiting them to me. We are going to do our best to rehabilitate them back to where they should be. Hoping that they will recover to full capacity! These are what they look like as of yesterday.... August 2015 Aug 2015 The thinnest one had a baby in May that died 6 days after it was born. do believe after seeing it's pics it was due to malnutrition. May 2015 May 2015 I have had previous experience with horses like this. Owned a Rescue Horse Ranch years ago. I have started them slowly on a regiment and will continue until they are in healthy condition.  Will keep ya updated!  Ps. I do want to mention A HUGE THANK YOU to our local Feed Store "War...
