Adventures Of Our Life!

When we put up the original fence we planned on adding a dividing fence towards the middle. Posts are in place with concrete around them. When we do this we use the dry mix, add it to the hole dry then leave for few days to set up. The ground moisture is plenty for the concrete to set up. Amazing! Process goes much quicker! In couple days, we will place the fencing across this spot. This pen will be used for a dry lot for our horses. Two of our boys are eating themselves to death! Ha Ha!! Copyright © 2018 M.E. If I could get into the garden I could plant these babies! The rain just keeps coming. I suppose I can just put on my mud boots and go to planting! :P I believe I will be planting my herbs in pots this year. Went on a day trip yesterday with Mountain Man. We don't get to do that very often. Moved the horses, Lyfa and Curly down to the lower pasture. Grass is starting to come on so they can camp out down there for the season. Moved Ram Lamb and Goaty Goat to the smaller pasture where Lyfa was so they don't irritate the ewes. The ewes are in their pasture but with a bonus of going over to the big pasture on the other side of the creek on good days. Shut the gate today because we got a ton of rain and the creek is running. We just spent the last couple days trimming donkeys, horses and shoeing a few too. Springtime brings the phone calls for the hoof clean up. It has been fun! The countryside we get to see is just beautiful! So green and the blooms are just starting to come on.... Spring brings change and we welcome it! ;)

 Brother had just tripped over his brother....it was funny! They are mouthing everything...sucking on grain pieces and nibbling on hay....so so cute! We are still in waiting for three ewes to lamb... We are getting closer to ordering chixs!! Yay!! Yesterday, we worked on the coop some more...got the front covered.... Thinking today we will have the doors constructed and placed. What you don't see (forgot to take pic) is the hen boxes have been lined with straw and cedar chips. The ladder has been constructed and placed. Added a running board on the bottom boxes for the chickies to better choose their box! I know, they will all fight over one box even though they have a ton to pick from! Crazy chickies! ____________________________________________________________________________ Mountain Man got the garden tilled yesterday. Oh, the smell of spring time dirt! Love it! Now it is ready for planting! We were offered a deal that we could not turn down.....blackberry and raspberry plants for FREE!! Thanks Mom and Dad!! These will go down in the bottom of the garden.....I think they will be alright there! Then I have to get the roses planted that Mountain Man go...

Our three cows went to the sale barn today for tomorrow's sale. Goaty goat was not sure this was alright with him but he is adjusting. We moved the goat and ram lamb into the small pasture.
