Coming to the End of the Year

Last time I talked about Christmas Coming, now it has come and gone! We had a great mini vacation, lots of company and lots of dinners! This year was all about getting in touch with people and having a few laughs and not so much about what everybody was given or receiving , loved it! Our first Christmas together as a married couple wasn't much different than before...LOL! Both of my sets of parents have had anniversaries, one on the 24th and the other 27th. Interesting really! Wish them both well! Plans for the New Year? Not sure what we are doing yet. It has been snowing throughout the day suppose to be getting up to 6 inches tomorrow. We sure need it!!!

4 Sleeps until Christmas!

Image
Here it is 4 days until Christmas! We received a few gifts today from a friend to put under our tree, which by the way are the first to be under our charlie brown leaning tree! Funny story about our tree, as you may remember we went out and found our tree rather quickly and then in a matter of 15 min had our tree decorated.....yes I hear you laughing , really you should see the tree it is quite hilarious! That evening we went over to a friends house to see the progress on his barn and returned to find the tree fell over! No wonder, we put the tree in loose sandy dirt we dug out of the snow in a rubber bucket and left. Laugh was on us! So now we have it wired to the wall and it has a slight lean to the right.......starts sounding like a Chevy Chase Christmas! Notice we took great care in mixing up the lights!!!! Incidentally we have had hung the two stockings up behind the stove and today it was suggested I move the large stocking as the things inside might melt! Someone put lots...

Week has whipped by!

Here it is Saturday evening and I realized I haven't written a thing for a few days. Well let's see what have I done, hmmm, thinking, thinking!! Tom and I dug our cross country skiis and went for a jont up the road. Was really a lot of fun except for the fact that my back is out so I was fighting off the pain of that! It has been out for a bit now and can't seem to keep it in. I keep trying but it keeps going out, hopefully this will end soon! Need to go to the hot springs and loosen up some muscles! Anyway, it was a really beautiful day to go, was a bit sore the next day but not as bad as I thought I would be. Yesterday I made cookies ,yes cookies. No I didn't overbake them or burn them. Yeah for me! I used to be able to make cookies no problem but come about 25 my cookie days had ended! No reason for it just did! But it seems to be back let's hope it stays! I also baked two loaves of bread and made an elk stew! I know Suzy homemaker but how I do love to cook! I ...

So Tired!

Image
Today I had a heck of a time waking up and around here it seem to be the theme of the day! After rising at 9:30am I decided I better take my vitamins so maybe I could feel human. Let them take affect , talked to a friend or two and on to the rest of the day I went. I wanted to finish the King Quilt I have been working on so I could send it and it arrive in WA state before the Christmas mail rush! I did just that and it is washed and ready for shipping.......came out lovely! Last night we were again invited to the neighbors for dinner. At first I declined due to finishing the quilt but after about an hour and talking with my hubby we decided to take the offer. Her hubby wasn't home and she was having the missionaries over for a meal and custom is that they aren't allowed to be in the home without another male figure in the home. So we filled the spot! We had a great time it turns out. Being missionaries they have a message to tell others and of course, we were chosen ...

A Day of Rest??????

Sunday as some know is my day to really not have anything to demanding ,my designated day of rest! A day to relax , read a book, do fun things like play in the snow and so on, you get the drift! Well today was a little different than my usual Sunday. Tom went out without me to a neighbors place and returned the Manny's(canvas cloth) we still had from hunting couple weeks ago and to deliver some Elk steaks for all the help he showed us.Me I decided to stick around the house and rest a bit. I started by making myself some eggs and sat down at the computer to check out my usual haunts to see what was happening in our world. Decided to watch a little Joyce Meyer and check my emails and such! Lo and behold in my email is my first actual online sale to date......praise the lord ....some of you really know me so you could probably imagine what excitement I had!!! I know to some it sounds silly that this 40 yr old woman would get like a giddy little school girl on her first day at school ...

Tree Day...

Image
Today was a lovely day with my hubby. He took me out for lunch at the local tasty freeze which was a nice change. Saw quite a few people that we haven't seen in awhile. Then we drove over to check on the horses in the winter range and they still look fat and sassy! We didn't think we were going to have a christmas tree this year, but surprise we went to the woods and found us a tree! A Charlie Brown Tree it ended up being....I think he would be proud! Now to find some presents to put under the tree ???? We decided to take some pics of ourselves in front of the tree and the first one , we laughed at ourselves as we were hiding the tree so we knelt down in front of our tree. Our first Christmas together as a married couple! We are a goofy pair.....at least we can laugh at ourselves.

Friday Friday La La La...

Good Day, Starting out on a positive note, set the mood for the day right? After I left yesterday I had some issues with the solar system that I wasn't quite sure how to fix ,hubby at work, there are lots of things I have to figure out on my own. It went something like this, the lights were flickering and they did that about 4 times and I realized there probably was something wrong and went to investigate. Went out and opened the utility door and sure enough the solar system was trying to switch over from batteries to charge and that was causing the surge in power. So I looked it over and found nothing. Went out to the generator which by the way had changed it sound too and looked it over and found it was ok. Looked the plug over (this plugs from generator to the solar system) and it seemed to be fine no loose wires or the like. Turned Generator off , did not want to waste gas. Went back to the solar system and again thought about it , in reality folks was having a conversation w...

Power Outage

Image
Well this day is starting out right! Postive attitude goes a long way huh.... Checking things out on this here computer and again the power is out...mind you we have solar power and now I have to go out and start the generator so we have power again. Could use couple days of sun to restore everything but alas it is winter and the back up's are needed more often than not. Like I always say "It's camping but not!". Yesterday I finished the top for a King Quilt in colors of Blue. It still amazes me how these quilts come out the way they do. I go into them with no pattern in mind and out they come with there own style in the end. This one will be heading for Vancouver, Wa early next week!  Be Right Back (BRB) have to go start that generator.....listen to the music while you wait................nothin' like gettin' ur heart pumpin' so early in the morn'...... It is really interesting to find out what uses more power. For instance a cellphone charger c...

7th of Dec

Can't believe its December already! The Holidays are upon us and I don't have any decorations up of any kind. Not sure I am going to this year we shall see. No tree either not trying to be bah hum bug about it but We are both really busy and it is just another holiday. We don't expect any family to come or friends really so what is the point! Anyways, the cabin is so full when it comes to winter time...with all the food storage that has to be in the house amongst other things. The temps have been around and under 0 lately and if you leave cans of things outside like foam sealant or soapy water it freezes, so it lives in the cabin in the winter. We have had vehicle issues lately, both trucks had no power due to bad batteries so yesterday my hubby picked up a couple batteries at Les Schwab and can't believe the prices....$100 a piece!! with a $5 core charge. Holy Moly! But it is nice to have the both of them up and running again never know when you will need them. The li...
