Sunday Passage

I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given to me — the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace. — Acts 20:24 Love hearing from ya!!!! Farm News

Image
Catching up on the Farm News: Lyfa has adjusted well to her new digs. She free roams, with a bell on, the pastures and when she is done she comes to the front yard to tell me. I take her back to her pen and we start again the next day. It works for both of us. The baby chicks as of last weekend have been officially integrated with the adult hens.  I started out by letting them out during the day to roam in the pen. Then they would come back to their little hut at night to roost. Then for three nights I would grab them from their roost and place them in the hen hut to roost on the side of the hen boxes, roosting bar on the front of it. After three days I shut their hut up to lovingly force them to go to the hen house at night and it worked. Now they live with the big girls. Nobody has been hurt or picked on in the process. They respectfully run when a couple of the "bosses" show up. They are doing great thus far! It has been a two week process. FIL came up yesterday wi...

Drainage Issue Resolved

Image
After all the heavy rains we had a ditch again. It got really deep. If you remember Mtn Man filled it up with gravel and it kept washing out a little.  FIL found some used culvert pipe and brought it up for us. The guys went to using it. Do believe this will work. So far it has.... The rains haven't quite yet. Everyday we are getting some rain.   Have a great day everybody!   Love hearing from ya!!!!  FOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK TOO! https://www.facebook.com/adventuresofmylife  Copyright © 2015 M.E. Sunday Passage

23  For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: 24  And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25  After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26  For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 Love hearing from ya!!!!   FOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK TOO! https://www.facebook.com/adventuresofmylife Copyright © 2015 M.E. Alterations Made

Image
Saturday we made the trip over to Joplin to drop off the screamer and her babies. Loaded up Lyfa and headed south to Arkansas. We got a call before we left asking us to come on down to see his sister. We thought we were that close (1 1/2 hrs), why not? It was really nice to see the family. Kids soaked it up. Mtn Man's Mini next to him We also brought Little Man with us on this trip for his new home. He went to Arkansas to a breeder. How fortunate could we have gotten!! I am happy that everything went smoothly. Lyfa is back in a new home (the goat pen modified a little) and I think she likes having a bit of quiet time to herself. She seems content!  We took out the divider in the shed and tied open the doors she could come and go as she pleased.  Even at 23 yrs old she is curious! Came back last evening to rest on our front porch. It was so lovely to hear the quiet once again. Serenity Valley is once again, peaceful! Love hearing from ya!!!!  FOLLOW US...

Are you tired of being prepared? GO READ THIS>>> http://thoughtsfromfrankandfern.blogspot.com/2015/05/are-you-tired-of-being-prepared.html I had to go read it! Tired, really? It seems my whole life has been in preparedness since I was born. Raised in a religion that was based on being ready for the End of The World at any moment. We neither know the day or the hour when it will come. So for me I am a prepared person down to my bones. Even when I go to work on a project...I think of everything I will need from start to end. Get really mad when I forget something too! It a real world situation that one mistake could cost ya your life!  I am not saying that we need to live in fear of living our lives. We just need to be a bit more prepared even for things like your house caught on fire. Do you have extra pair of britches and a tshirt or shoes somewhere so when you are caught in your underwear in the middle of the night you have something to put on? Or if you are in rural...

Hard Decisions

Image
Pics from 2007 I got a call from my friend over in Joplin that Lyfa needed to come home. Lyfa, my horse, is having a hard time over there. Spring has brought on some health issues for her so we are bringing her home. I will have to dry lot (no green grass) her because she is over weight. To much grain and green grass. I am hoping she hasn't foundered . This time of year their is fresh green grass everywhere! The only logical place at this time to put her is where the goats are being kept.  What about the goats you say? Well I have thought this over and prayed about it. With our present circumstance on our farm the goats are going back to my friends in Joplin. Yes, babies too! I have been asking for answers anyway on what to do with our goats. The momma "screams" a lot!! I can't even open the screen door and she is screaming! Well the babies are gonna learn that behavior, one has already and it really goes right into my bones making me cringe. I really ...
