Fencing Project

Image
The horses are enjoying their new digs! By the by this pic was taken after we had a 12" rain in 36 hr time! Just this last week!! Anyhoo, we started out by getting the posts in the ground...digging holes with the auger that attaches to the tractor...pouring the dry crete in the holes to help stabilize things a bit better. The moisture from the ground and air help the concrete get set up!   So as you can see in this picture we are ready to get the rest of the t posts in the ground...figuring it out as we go! My strong Mtn Man got the t-posts in and then we were off to the next section to get another set in the ground... Let me share a handy little trick that Mtn Man uses that I thought was fabulous...You see that 8 ft 2x4 laying on the ground there ...he uses it to figure out where to set the next post...8 ft apart! Nifty huh? Then the level is used to help level out the post from side to side....the line that is in there ...white in color...is to used for the li...

Sunday Passage

Next to him was Eleazar son of Dodai the Ahohite, one of the three mighty warriors. He was with David at Pas Dammim when the Philistines gathered there for battle. At a place where there was a field full of barley, the troops fled from the Philistines. But they took their stand in the middle of the field. They defended it and struck the Philistines down, and the Lord brought about a great victory. – 1 Chronicles 11:12-14 (NIV) Love hearing from ya!!!! New To Us Cooking Stove

Image
Mtn Man found me a stove to cook on ($100)...we went and picked it up...had a great visit with the owners. Put it in the back of the FJ excited to see it in action! The next day we took it out of the FJ and I cleaned it up! Little bit greasy but no biggie! We moved it into the house in the little spot in the kitchen now and when the room is ready for its debut we will move it into it new spot there. But for now it owns the spot in the ol' kitchen!  Isn't it cute? 3 burners up top and the oven is a bit bigger than the convection. Just have to figure out how to get those orifices adjusted. But the top works beautifully! We are using it like in a cabin style setting...individual propane tank hooked up to it. No point in plumbing in a new line when this part of the house is coming down in the spring! The BBQ out back still works good for baking, for now! This little stove doesn't have any labels on it...we are thinking maybe 1920's era...anybody know? Love hear...

Day 5-Preparing For Tiny Living

Image
Day #5 Yes another day!! LOL! Ok so the smell seem to get worse...we had company show up and give us a brand new microwave. So loving of them to do! And we all sat out at the bon fire having pizza and good time. Still trying to figure out what that smell was.... We finally had a moment to think about it a bit...Mtn Man said well maybe I jiggled that gas line enough that it is leaking at the other joint...Babe get me a bottle with soap and water! And ya know he was right! Little sucker was a bubblin away! Wahoo found the source of that putrid smell! And we are alive to tell the story! Ya know ladies and gents we have been enjoying our new water system! It works well!!! Wahoo!!   Love hearing from ya!!!! Day 4-Preparing For Tiny Living

Image
Day #4 So so happy to get a shower! Wash the dishes( little adjustment to the fire in the heater) and wash the clothes that were piling up! Wahoo! But friends we had another problem... we went to breakfast and came back to a horrible smell! I thought maybe it was the dirty dishes in the sink or the garbage so I went to getting that taken care of... we opened up the doors to air the place out and that afternoon still had a smell! Not good! Cannot find the source...well Mtn Man thought maybe it was a loose fitting in our water heater room so he checked those and found nothing. We continued on with our chores with this issue still in the back of our minds and nose! Mtn Man went up in the attic to finish attaching the rest of the pipe for the on demand water heater. Didn't think it a good idea to just vent into the attic so up through the roof it goes.... And the saga continues yet another day..... Really happy to have flowing water tho' !   Love hearing from y...

Day 3-Preparing For Tiny Living

Image
Day #3 Ok so FIL shows up and we go over what the issues are. FIL has skills with electrical so the back up was much needed. Off to the Hardware store they go for another 3 hour tour (LOL squirrel-Gillian's Island)... LOL!  They arrive home to start the job of rewiring and really that was no big deal from my view point of things...LOL! I just watched and took pics! They decided to use the tractor to dig a trench... turned the fork around on the backblade they use on the roads to dig that trench then followed up with a shovel... They strung with my help down this trench and under the back deck down the side of the house and up through the floor... Got the pressure tank and switch all working correctly and turned the water on (testing the line). FIL was up at the well head to make sure we didn't have any issues up there...and we hear hollering "shut it off"! Crap now what? That red hose that met the black junction there had a small hole in it. N...

Day 2-Preparing For Tiny Living

Image
Day#2 Off to the hardware store we went for more parts. Another 3 hrs gone! Got back to take out and replace the pressure tank and switch. He also wanted to add a shut off valve for the water line in the house as there was not one. To find out why they wired the place like they did we decided we had better go to the well head and check things out there too! Surprise Surprise more mess! Yes that is a pressure switch in the top of the well head!! WTH? And for you who know electric that is the well pump wiring going into the switch with a 12-2 wire coming out!! Again WTH? Not sure what they were thinkin!?  Mtn Man opened up the switch box and found no ground wires anywhere. Now some folks say that the water is ground enough...BUT with this mess who is to say! Mtn Man pulled up a bail of hay and had a sit down for a sec just saying Wife I am not sure what to do at this point! We don't have a clue where the 12-2 wire meets the 10 gauge wire in the house. It appears that the...

Preparing For Tiny Living

Image
Day#1 We started out with just a simple task of switching out the water heater to a tankless water heater (on demand). All we had to do was remove the 1991 Water Tank which still worked great and add a junction to the gas line to get the new one in! Well as some of you know when you get into someone else's mess you end up with a mess yourself! Let me start at the beginning....we got ourselves up, had our coffee, dipped in the hot tub and then we were off to get the task accomplished. The first thing we had to do was drain the water heater and the pressure tank. After looking things over Mtn Man decided that it needed replacing too! So while they were draining we were off to the hardware store for the needed parts. Arriving at home after being gone for 1/2 of the day.... Mtn Man turned off our power, removed the water heater and all the silly pipe system and went to work replacing everything not without issue though! From somewhere in the house I hear words that I cannot repe...

Sunday Passage

Matthew 12:33-37 33 “A tree is identified by its fruit. Make a tree good, and its fruit will be good. Make a tree bad, and its fruit will be bad. 34 You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. 35 A good person produces good words from a good heart, and an evil person produces evil words from an evil heart. 36 And I tell you this, that you must give an account on judgment day of every idle word you speak. 37 The words you say now reflect your fate then; either you will be justified by them or you will be condemned.” Love hearing from ya!!!!
