Weekend Updates

Image
Whew! What A Weekend! We saw all kinds of folks this weekend. Some repeats and some new. Great visiting with everybody. Installed a bathroom cabinet and faucet at the neighbors farm house with Mtn Man's assistance. Then had supper with them which was a nice change. Tator went home with the InLaws Sunday. Sure he was happy to be back to his own place! Peanut sure misses him... Saturday we went to Pioneer Days here in town was a little disappointed. Let me explain, after installing the bathroom cabinet we came home and changed our clothes. We got there about 3 pm and the festival was folding up. Most of the booths were gone, the band was playing but nothing else going on. They had the parade at 3pm which I can only imagine wasn't all that big but never have heard of it going at the end of a festival instead of the beginning. And folding up shops at 3 because they were told to. Poor management! I did get some local honey. We got to look over the Sitze's cabin and the...

Pioneer Festival

Image
Con't from yesterday..... Saturday We received a call from cuz dave who informed us that he was on his way to his work truck to pack it to go to Alabama. This was all we heard on our cell before the volume function died on it. We tried numerous times to make it work but it is toast! Interesting really... considering we didn't take it with us on the trip on Friday. Hmmmm! When we received this call we were on our way to the Festival. We felt really strongly that we were supposed to attend this event. We arrived and met up with John & Ann who were pleased to see us.  We had a great time! They had all kinds of events, tomahawk throwing, skeet shooting, bow/arrow shooting, face painting, ol' car show, live band music, nerf ball games, hay rides and tons of food for all! Open to the public at no cost. This event happens every year.  I, of course took lots of pics.... We want to thank John & Ann for the invite...we trul...

Whirlwind Trip

Image
Thursday we set the goats up for an overnight stay by themselves. Threw a hay bale to them and filled up their water. Then fixed the chickens up the same but left their door open so they wouldn't be pinned up in their small house for 24 hrs. They all survived it well even though they may have had company..... see what I mean! This one made us laugh! ************************************************************************** We went off to the doctor on Thurs.with a bit of the jitters on what he was gonna say. But thank the lord the out come was great. Tues. Mtn Man has his final testing on his knee to find out what the progress is and where he is at from a medical stand point. Now he can feel like he can move forward even though there are still things he can't do and may never be able to do again. Bending down on that knee, not so much.... and so on. We stopped off to visit his grandmother who lives in a nursing home. She will be 93 on Monday and we fully intend ...

Sunday Passage

Are you listening? Luke 8:4-15 King James Version (KJV) 4  And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable: 5  A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. 6  And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. 7  And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. 8  And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. 9  And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be? 10  And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand. 11  Now the parable is th...

Fall Wood

Image
I just swallowed a flying bug.... at least I think I did....or should I say chewed one up....oh gag a maggot (yes I really said that). I am trying to keep my BT(Bacon/Tomato Sandwich) down which I only half of because that gag reflex has been pushed! I was eating and looked down to see little legs wiggling in front of me on the inside of my sandwich, really in the mayo that was on my sandwich. yuck! No I would not be a good candidate for a survival show..... eating bugs is not a good thing! No offense to anybody...if I was starving...yeah I would probably devour it and try real hard not to think about it........yuck! I can guarantee that there would be some horking going on........ Tis the season for wood..... We started day before yesterday getting our winter supply in, filling the wood box (which really is the corner by the stove) and the front porch area. Then started a pile up by the wood stack. We worked up about a cord of wood...good start! Speaking of wood, Saturday th...
