Full Up!

Image
I really try to avoid drama although sometimes it appears in my life despite my best efforts. Life seems to cycle through people "like sands in an hourglass"..ha ha (reminds me of a soap from long ago)! My life used to be a soap opera a lot of the time but I like to think that I have out grown that. In the last couple days I have come to realize that people I held as important do not have the same feeling toward me. I have known them for the better part of 20 years so this one hurts to my heart. I have been struggling with this for the last five years really and in the last few days have realized that loving them for so long sometimes we have to let them go. I believe that is really what they want anyhow. I feel that they have no need for me anymore...so like a mother bird letting her young go I say "Fly baby Fly". Maybe now they won't feel so obligated to me. I am letting ya off the hook if that was all you needed wish you had told me sooner. May you will find...

Creating Happiness

Image
For others. Melinda over at Country Dreaming has for the last few years been participating in a card shower for kids who are in a hospital local to her. This year I decided I wanted to participate too! I have been having so much fun with this. I went and bought a whole bunch of goodies and construction paper. And off I went to making cards! Having a blast! I believe I will do this next year! **************************************************************************** Farm Update: Well today we went up and hooked the log splitter up. The weather is fixin to change so we needed to stock up on the wood again.  Mtn Man started in on splitting while I went over and fixed the temp shed we made. Bought a long tarp to fit over the whole thing   If you want to leave a COMMENT please EMAIL me (MARYE.MASTERSON@GMAIL.COM) Love hearing from ya! Big Ol Barn

Image
Our neighbors next year owns three structures that lived through the civil war. The rest in the valley were burned to the ground. One of those very structures is the barn we are disassembling a piece at a time. This barn was built in 1844. The workmanship is amazing to have lasted this long. It had been added to many years later. We are working on the original structure now. What a neat piece of history right here in our "back yard". We have been told that this area we live in was once the dividing line between the North and the South, right here in this little ol valley. Reverend Pinkney Graham (1812-1877) owned this land that all these structures are on and was well respected in these parts. So during the civil war his lands were spared from the destruction. Enjoy the pics this will be last time this barn will be standing. We hope to be able to salvage some of the logs to make a smaller structure to stay on the  neighbors farm.   If you ...

Breakfast Out & Work Day

Image
Breakfast At The Bistro Mtn Man took me out for breakfast at our local restaurant. Very good food! If you find yourself in the area of Marquand be sure to stop and have a bite!!  ****************************************************************************** The shop progression over the last few days is amazing! It has taken on a whole nother look! Thank you DS our "Human Monkey" and FIL for all your help on this project thus far! I catch Mtn Man looking out the window peering at his shop. I think he is a bit excited about his over size dog house! LOL! Man Cave! LOL! Whatever you want to call it...his dream come true! Maybe now he will be able to find his tools when he needs them instead of "honey do you know where I put ....?" LOL! You could say I am excited too! Within 2 wks we will have the trusses and then they can lay the roofing. In the meantime, we will cut the siding on the mill out of pine so it is ready. Finish up a couple outside projects like t...
