Once a year in town they have an auction. We got up this morning and headed for the sale! Lots of goodies to be looked at. We did buy a few things that we just couldn't live without. I am a sucker for cast iron anything usable. I bought two pans 10& 12 ($25). He bought a potato fork, a pick and another tool attachment ($10). We also bought some older windows($6), a tater/onion bin($2) and I think the best of the best a quilting rack on a stand (brand new still in the box)($3). This stand from the best that I can figure was bought from JcPenney's catalog probably in the 70's or maybe even 60's. If anybody knows when these kind of things were sold in their catalog let me in on the info! It is always fun to hit those kind of bargains. Love hearing from ya!!!! As most of you know our road is an old creek bed that floods when the rains come. This causes washout on the road and makes it difficult to travel unless you have a horse! I called our Road & Bridge Maintenance Office yesterday(Sunday) leaving a message asking for repairs on our road. They appeared this morning(Monday) early! They hung out on our road all day. Brought in loads of rock and fill to repair the road. Then the grader would smooth it out to make the road. It looks a ton better! And will probably be a bit easier to travel especially on our end. The Results: All this work is lovely BUT it has created another problem! My phone is out again...LOL! The grader must of caught a wire or moved the dirt around so much from the washout areas that now my phone no longer works. It worked in the morning before I headed out to mow. So sent out another repair order via the internet....  Upside at least I still have this for communication! LOL! All of this...

I got involved in a book and I couldn't put it down! It is by Rebecca Waters -Breathing On Her Own. I did not sleep a wink! Maybe I will get a nap in later today. Yesterday the Folks showed up with their work clothes on. We gave Dad his Father's Day card We worked on the yard mowing and trimming. We worked in the garden weeding and trimming. After all these rains we had the grass has grown a ton! We are so grateful that they came out to help on the farm! As the day went on the hotter it got and dried everything out nicely! Cleaning up I came across some interesting creatures...makes a person stop and soak up God's Wonders. Had no idea they came in this shade of color I counted 4 in this nest! Enjoy Your Day!   Indoor one I use all the time LAUNDRY! Gotcha, didn't I? I am taking advantage of the sunshine and breeze. It is a cool 71* out this morning. We ended up with a full 5 1/2" of rain since Sunday. Creek (wet weather) is still flowing out front. The garden will drain today so I can get in it tomorrow. Maybe get in it today to pull weeds from around the plants. Will check  it out anyhow. I am not a patient person I tell ya! Tomorrow is Father's Day. Whether your Poppa, Papa, Daddy, Dad or Father is here or in heaven....I wish everybody the best of days. And if you are truly a "dead beat" Dad or sperm donor shame on you! Every kid needs their dad! Well got off track on that one. Speaking of track while I was hanging laundry I noticed these little buggers (tiny ants) making trail across my clothesline from the Walnut tree. Can you imagine how long it takes them to get across there then I come along and throw a wrench (clothes) in their trail? ...

Can't remember the technical name for this type of lily but they grow wild here in Mo Easter Lilies ******************************************************************************** Tropical Bill has made it to our region. It is moving through a lot quicker than it did for our friends in Oklahoma and Texas. It still has a rotating motion as it moves through so for us here at the farm it has been hit and miss. For our St. Louis friends and family not so much! They have been inundated with rain causing widespread flooding throughout the city and the out lying towns. Well the brunt of this storm is here NOW! I see out the window that it is pouring. Since last friday we are up to 5" of rain. We may very well hit 7" after this storm moves through.  My internet signal has disappeared.....so must be a doozy!  Back up an runnin'! Ok where was I ...oh yeah rain fall. I am sorry but this is the biggest news right now on the farm. When I measured a minute ago...
