Whirlwind Trip
Thursday we set the goats up for an overnight stay by themselves. Threw a hay bale to them and filled up their water. Then fixed the chickens up the same but left their door open so they wouldn't be pinned up in their small house for 24 hrs. They all survived it well even though they may have had company..... see what I mean!

We went off to the doctor on Thurs.with a bit of the jitters on what he was gonna say. But thank the lord the out come was great. Tues. Mtn Man has his final testing on his knee to find out what the progress is and where he is at from a medical stand point. Now he can feel like he can move forward even though there are still things he can't do and may never be able to do again. Bending down on that knee, not so much.... and so on.
We stopped off to visit his grandmother who lives in a nursing home. She will be 93 on Monday and we fully intend on celebrating it with her.
After our visit we headed over to a friends house that Mtn Man hadn't seen since 2005. AleeYuss (pronounced Alias) and Mtn Man were very good buddies growing up so the stories were flyin'. Anyhow, we brought our puter tower over to him to see if maybe he could fix it for me. We ended up having to go to Best Buy and purchase a new hard drive. I wish hackers would leave well enough alone so things like this wouldn't happen. I now have to get used to a whole new program because that is what was available. I am grateful that he was able to get it up and running. Will be taking our others over to him to fix on Monday. It was nice to meet him....
We stayed the night a Inlaws house so we could head out on our trip to Cabool. Why Cabool, you ask? Well, Mtn Man's sister and nephew drove up from Arkansas who picked up Auntie M in Joplin to deliver a whole pig for us. I am looking forward to eating this pig. Homegrown pig is so much better than store bought any day of the week.
On our way we stopped off at Big Springs. What a beautiful place!!
We ate breakfast sandwiches here and then took a tour of the park.
Yes, we took little Tator with us. Tator for those of you who don't know is my FIL little squirrel dog. Tator had a bit of fun on our tour and chomped on something that made his little belly upset. He started horking in the car and in a hurry we pulled the car over to the side of the road and InLaws cleaned up the mess and off we rolled.
Let me back up a bit, when we were eating breakfast sandwiches this Lady In Red rolled up in her red convertible stepped out of her car and started stretching using her car as her stable point to place her foot. Now she had a long red t-shirt on that looked like she had no shorts on...long skinny legs, blonde hair and stretching right next to us in front of my hubby and FIL(who had his back to this show). Mind ya, there was hardly anybody in this park, two other couples who were out walking the grounds and miles of parking everywhere else. But she had to pull up right next to us and stretch right there next to us. I can't keep my mouth shut most times and the present company and God was hearing what I was saying but I didn't say anything to her.... she finally left with her earphones in and went for her jog/walk.
We loaded up and off we went for our little tour. Ok now catching up to Tator and the Horking. So after getting things cleaned up we stopped off to throw trash away so it wouldn't stink up the car. We circled around looking at the camping grounds and guess who was walking around here too...you guessed it the Lady In Red. We passed her and headed for the Lodge that was closed and drove up to the cabins you can rent it was beautiful. Cleaned up Tator one more time after horking.
We left and headed for Cabool with little Tator snoozing in the backseat. Now you may wonder about the Lady In Red and what she has to do with anything. Well here is "the rest of the story". About 5 miles out my MIL starts panicking because she cannot find her cellphone. A very expensive cellphone! This thing does everything under the sun except spit out money! As much as she paid for it , I think it should spit out money too! Back to the story, she is asking for us to pull over so we can search the car and NO Cell anywhere! Oh my lord, where in the world did it get dropped in this huge park?
We headed back, chatting about where maybe it could be. Was it the first stop while Tator was horking or the second stop? Could it be in the trash can? The restrooms? I was afraid somebody picked it up and she would never see it again. FIL says well let's find someone at the lodge and call the number if we don't find it. Great idea!!! We did not bring our tracphone because we didn't think we needed it. We are so not used to having a cell but keep one of these around for those times when he isn't here or vice versa. Well, we didn't find it anywhere so he made the call. Someone answered....yes, you guessed it The Lady In Red. She had called Auntie M in the meantime trying to find out who's phone it was. She said she would come back to the park to meet us. You talk about eating some crow and God slappin some of us around!
If you see this Lady In Red, Thank you for your graciousness!
We finally made it to Cabool without any more mishaps. Seeing his sister and nephew and auntie was a great break from our usual day. So grateful she was able to come up half way to meet us. We made it home around 9pm Friday evening. Thanking God that the farm was all well!
After arriving home, we got a call for the second time in a week, to come to a church function, Pioneer Festival, the next day. We were so tired that we turned it down only to call them back 5 mins later saying we would be attending. In that 5 mins, InLaws had sent an email telling us that the plans they had for the next day were changed. We were all going to go to the Altenburg Country Fair. We tried calling cousin Dave to let him know that we were going up there to the church deal but was only able to leave a message.
Con't this tomorrow.......
