 Con't from yesterday..... Saturday We received a call from cuz dave who informed us that he was on his way to his work truck to pack it to go to Alabama. This was all we heard on our cell before the volume function died on it. We tried numerous times to make it work but it is toast! Interesting really... considering we didn't take it with us on the trip on Friday. Hmmmm! When we received this call we were on our way to the Festival. We felt really strongly that we were supposed to attend this event. We arrived and met up with John & Ann who were pleased to see us.  We had a great time! They had all kinds of events, tomahawk throwing, skeet shooting, bow/arrow shooting, face painting, ol' car show, live band music, nerf ball games, hay rides and tons of food for all! Open to the public at no cost. This event happens every year.  I, of course took lots of pics.... We want to thank John & Ann for the invite...we trul...

Thursday we set the goats up for an overnight stay by themselves. Threw a hay bale to them and filled up their water. Then fixed the chickens up the same but left their door open so they wouldn't be pinned up in their small house for 24 hrs. They all survived it well even though they may have had company..... see what I mean! This one made us laugh! ************************************************************************** We went off to the doctor on Thurs.with a bit of the jitters on what he was gonna say. But thank the lord the out come was great. Tues. Mtn Man has his final testing on his knee to find out what the progress is and where he is at from a medical stand point. Now he can feel like he can move forward even though there are still things he can't do and may never be able to do again. Bending down on that knee, not so much.... and so on. We stopped off to visit his grandmother who lives in a nursing home. She will be 93 on Monday and we fully intend ...

Before I begin this discussion, most people who know me knows I do not go to church (a building where people gather to make others feel guilty). I was a church goer for all my growing up years until my mid 20's. I truly enjoyed going to church to learn more about "God" but even in my younger years I still had issues with some of the practices of my church that I did not feel comfortable with. We are told not to judge one another but in some churches they judge you despite what the scriptures say. In some churches the bible isn't even used just rituals and practices that don't even take God into account. Some churches have people screamin at ya the whole time you are there even though my hearing is just fine if they would talk normal maybe I could "hear" them. And some it is just a social gathering with no mention of God at all. I read my bible probably not as much as I should and for me talking with God is an easy gesture which I do constantly as if h...

Mary's Biscuits & Gravy -- First things first, have to get the biscuits ready and this morning I decided I wanted the drop biscuits as I was feeling quite lazy. Do you remember the recipe for Basic Quick Bread from the other day? This is the one to use except that you will drop big blobs of dough in the pan like big sloppy biscuits or very thick cookies. Make sure you drop in a greased pan and in an 350* oven and Bake until your knife comes out clean when you poke them probably about 20 mins, and a little brown on top looks nice too! Now to make the Gravy:: Start with a couple healthy dollops of leftover bacon grease (I save my meat  grease and if I get to many jars going I freeze them for later) Heat the grease up until it is clear Add about 1 1/2 C. of flour--the idea is the flour will soak up the grease until it becomes kind of like a Roux/Rue (click on Rue for meaning) Roux Add your seasonings now Now add your milk..honestly I couldn'...
