Drawing Closer to Him

You know that feeling when you're in a crowded room full of people and you still feel isolated?

 That is the period of life that I would say that I am in! Not that I need anybody to feel sorry for me or to make judgment on this part of my life!

What I am saying is sometimes God will put you in a place, and let me preface this with saying that everybody's isolation is different, that will isolate you from others lives, drama, concerns, etc. Because he is trying to draw you closer to him. He is fulfilling your heart's desire! To be closer to God is comforting. Isn't that our whole goal here on this Earth? Didn't he put us here for his concern, his love, his attention? 

We get so carried away with our everyday lives that we forget to go to him for advice, for direction, for conversation. I know some will absolutely go, conversation? how do you have a conversation with God? I challenge you! Growing closer to God is like having a physical friendship with a human being. But you might ask how do you have a conversation with a being that is invisible to the naked eye? I'm not saying it's easy in fact it's quite difficult because our brains are so geared to being able to see and physically touch a being. That we can't fathom having a relationship with something that we can't see. But I challenge you! The results of this being is all around you! Look at the things that are growing right out of the ground. 

You plant a seed and even those who are in the city could do this, take a cup go to your localhardware/garden store buy a small bag of soil or dirt as some would call it and plant a single seed, try a bean seed, give it some water. Those who don't have a green thumb just keep that soil moist Don't drown it but keep it moist and soon you will see just in a handful of days you will see that seed sprout and eventually after so many days you will see that will produce more beans! Without God, that would not be possible! You Don't see how that miracle of a bean sprouting comes to be. But you can see the results of the bean sprouting as you expected it to do when you put it in the dirt and gave it water. That to me is the same kind of thinking when it comes to God. 

When you build your foundation, building your foundation, getting your cup putting soil in it, growing closer to God finding out who he is. Then you build on that foundation by prayer,talking to God. Reading about his attributes, his likes, his dislikes. Talking to God about your everyday trials and victories. This is how you build your foundation, your relationship with God. And as you build on your foundation and you grow, just like the seed blossoms and grows, so does your relationship with God. And by doing this, these conversations and I say conversations because really that's what they become. You no longer worry about what somebody else thinks or how people view you or or think you're crazy. Because that doesn't matter in God's world. Remember the only reason we're put here on this Earth was to have relationship with God. 

Now this doesn't mean that the devil who sets out to ruin your day everyday or tries to manipulate you in a way that makes you feel bad and angers you, won't continue to try to sway you to his side of the fence. But you keep trying and you keep working. You pull the weeds when they start to grow in that soil. It's the same concept! Sometimes those weeds don't come out by the roots and you have to dig for them to get them out. And sometimes they just come out so easily. And you claim victory! 

Remain close to God, build a relationship with him, he's the reason that you're here on this Earth in the first place! 

And soon you will see the fruits from your growth. God will direct your every step. Again the devil will continue to try but the closer that you get to God and let him take care of you the less you worry about what the devil's up to! Because at some point God just steps in and takes care of it. He stands in the gap for you!

I believe that's what all of us want. We want the security, the safety of knowing that we are taking care of. That someone, something has got us! That we feel loved, genuinely loved and that we belong. 

In this life it doesn't take people to make us complete, it takes God! 

Again he put us here to worship Him, to love him and to make him our main focus in our life. Once we understand that, once we fully understand that, then really nothing else matters!
