Farm News
Catching up on the Farm News:
Lyfa has adjusted well to her new digs. She free roams, with a bell on, the pastures and when she is done she comes to the front yard to tell me. I take her back to her pen and we start again the next day. It works for both of us.
The baby chicks as of last weekend have been officially integrated with the adult hens. I started out by letting them out during the day to roam in the pen. Then they would come back to their little hut at night to roost. Then for three nights I would grab them from their roost and place them in the hen hut to roost on the side of the hen boxes, roosting bar on the front of it. After three days I shut their hut up to lovingly force them to go to the hen house at night and it worked. Now they live with the big girls. Nobody has been hurt or picked on in the process. They respectfully run when a couple of the "bosses" show up. They are doing great thus far! It has been a two week process.
FIL came up yesterday with the brush hog and mowed the lease pasture. Looks wonderful!
My mower has thrown a belt. I looked it over and it is broken so will have to have that looked at. Did manage to get a little mowed at my house yesterday before that happened.
Garden is growing! The potato plants have grown like crazy!
The strawberries, oh my goodness! Gave MIL 3 gallon bags yesterday.
They are so good too! Sweet!
Well that is all for now!
Have a great day!
And if I don't hear from ya before the weekend starts Enjoy It!
Be sure to give praise to the Man Upstairs He deserves it!
Love hearing from ya!!!!
