Weekend Updates

Friday we went for Mtn Man's check up on his knee.....he is healing well! The doc released him to full weight bearing as of Tues....which means he will walk with a cane for a bit and get rid of the crutches, he does not have to wear the brace all the time which he likes. Wahoo!
We also stopped by and saw his Grandma J in the nursing home and fully enjoyed that visit.
And we visited a lake close to his parents place called Tywappity Lake. Mtn Man had memories of the place that are very much different than it is now. Look to go fishing there sometime soon!

Saturday we headed off to the Kow Pasture Klassic this is a fund raiser for Missouri Veterans Home . From what I understand the game is like traditional golf but the ball that is used is a tennis ball, they play in a cow pasture and they are allowed to hit this ball with any device necessary while drinking the desired beverage of choice. We stopped off to take a gander at this game and it was interesting. I guess way back when this started they would put the cows in this pasture a week ahead of time and play the game....messy! Finished off the evening with a BBQ at the In Laws. How much better could it be a day with Friends & Family!
Party out back of Schindler's Tavern

This guy hit this ball with all his mite only to go about 20 yards in front of him if you look hard you can see the green ball there at the next flag!

This guy was hilarious to watch before he swung it took him about 15 mins to get ready, he stretched and stretched as if his life depended on it....

These fellas were having a ball!

Schindler's Tavern from the frontKnown for their Bologna Burger Best in the country

This ball was on air

This was his target!

Inside the place they say it goes back to the late 1800's

The carp above the bar is ancient!

He has a rack of ribs in his jaws he walked all the way up to the church next door to hide it!

Catholic Church next door.....

Sunday we stayed home to work and play on the place. Went playing in the creek then worked on brush clearing for a bit went back to playing in the creek catching crawdads then worked a bit more. Went for a 2 mile walk this morning some of the walk consisted of me marking private property with purple paint as the Spring Turkey Season will be upon us in a couple weeks. Don't need any stray bullets flying by us while out working in the yard! At the end of the day I walked up another branch of the creek just to see where it went and to see if there is fish in it....found lots of small ones.
What a peaceful place we have here!

  1. Oh I am happy Mtn Man's knee is healing.
Oh I laughed out loud when I see the dog with the rack of ribs. That is an amazing little place with a lot of treasures I would love to see it
Be careful with Turkey hunting season I wear bright orange hats just to go check my cows in Hunting season around here. Not very much Turkey hunting though mostly deer. Hug B.

    1. That is a great tip...Had a couple fellas stop by yesterday to see if their honey hole was still unoccupied to their complete surprise we are here. So no Turkey hunting on these grounds by them anyhow!
Thanks for coming over always nice to see ya B!

  2. So glad to hear about Mtn. Man's progress. Being able to ditch the crutches is great news.

Thanks so much for taking us along on your day out and about. It is so much fun to see what others are doing and the places they visit. I sat and giggled at the photos of the Kow Pasture Klassic. Wonderful fun! And you just gotta love a dog who is smart enough to not only steal a rack of ribs but smart enough to get out of sight with it.

It was like spending a day with a friend.
