Hit The Ground Runnin'

Woke this morning and headed for town after couple cups of coffee!
We first went to the A&M which I think used to be an A&W and had a bite to eat, feeding the monster (me) in the morning takes priority. After eggs and toast we went on the search for a tire shop for my 4 wheeler. Now in Fredericktown there are two shops that we were told about and they both had to order tires(4-5 days to arrive) while charging us a steep price for them so we thought well another 20 miles we would go to the shop in Farmington to see what they would offer. Tomorrow they would have the tires, mounted ready to go by 4pm and the price was beat by 30 bucks. When we finally found the shop after looking for a few minutes realized they tore the original building down come to find out they had a fire and a large loss! I was more than willing to give these 4 guys the work rather than closer to home due to their circumstance. Poor guys were so bored when we arrived it was like sharks circling their dinner. So we will probably pick it up Friday morning as we have other things on tomorrows books.
We stopped off at Madison County Feed Store and bought our fencing for the garden. It was time!

We did a little grocery restock and headed for home this was about 2:30pm.
We grabbed some leftovers(Irish Shepherds Pie) from yesterday and then headed out to work on our project. Trees arrived day before yesterday and needed to be planted ASAP. Planted 11 trees, mostly fruit, 2 forsythias, 1 red maple, 1 blueberry, 2 raspberry and 1 grape.

6 fruit trees on the edge of garden

2 forsythias by the ol well

strawberry on the right and grape, raspberries on the left

4 fruit trees by the little wet creek by the house

Red Maple on the hill to the right of the hill flowers
We did all this and we put in couple gate posts for my little gate too!
We then both decided we would call it a day, after couple hours of work and a very long day in town it was tottie time!

Do hope your day was wonderful......

  1. Your daffodils in your header are beautiful!! Planting trees always makes me feel so smart and wise...planting for the future...a gift for those that come after me. I too will be planting trees this weekend...a couple apple, cherry, loquat and currants.
