Well folks this week 5 trips w/two trucks to Gillette with equipment was quiet the week. Still more to go but it is starting to look a little empty around here.
Butterflies in the belly is the feeling I can describe this morning. Our big container headed out yesterday for its long trip south. On the flip side, our house is a bit more empty......
And yes father in law made it safely to Missouri!
On today's agenda we had the vet out here for getting health checks and brands on the horses including Curly!

We chose to freeze brand them. I know some would say this is cruel but in our country where livestock gets stolen everyday we thought it would be best. T bar M is our personal brand here in Montana, have applied for that brand in Missouri as well. This process is so simple really and I think a lot less painful for them. Sedated first then your irons are sitting in liquid nitrogen and get them extremely cold almost like a real heavy frost look to them then you apply to the spot that has been shaved, cleaned and sterilized. It looks like you left a foot print in the dirt..then wait a few minutes and it welts. As the process goes on the hair falls off and it kills the hair follicles and what grows back is white hair in the place of their natural hair.
Only one horse needed his teeth floated and all had their shots today. The mules got a little bit of a hair cut as well.....next thing to do is their hooves thought we would wait until later in week to attend to those as we had already "tortured" them enough.
While waiting for the vet to get here this morning we decided to cook up some hamburgers over our fire pit. Nothing taste better!!
