Love Is a Choice

Image
Yesterday, I read a blog post by Rory Feek-I choose love. In his post he is speaking of his struggle with his daughter coming out as a lesbian. It has caused him to re examine his faith in God and his love for his daughter. What stirred me in his conversation was this statement "Hopie has made me rethink everything I’ve ever thought when it comes to some things. And in other ways I’m still right where I always was. First off, I’m not the judge. That is not my job. I’m Hopie’s father. My job is to love her. She gets to make her decisions in life. All of them. I can approve or disapprove, but it’s her life, and she has a right to live it as she chooses.  And as far as the church goes, I am not the judge there either. My faith says that it’s wrong. That it’s wrong for me. And so I will live my life trying to live what I believe. But Hopie’s faith is her faith. It is between her and God and no one else. You and I can try to judge her and condemn her or anyone else, b...

Outside Looking In

Image
From my diary on Feb. 14, 2018 I have been watching a movie about a man’s faith. It has moved me with such emotion that I felt I needed to write it all down. How is it that one man can change the minds and hearts of a non-believer? He never criticized anyone for how they believed. Not once did he make another feel small because of how they felt. All he did was show love and gracefully turned it back to God. Agree to disagree. We as humans, have a tendency to want to prove ourselves right to another. When really one could graciously say something that would make the other think about God. Taking it off ourselves and back to Him. I read a scripture today in Matthew 5:45 that reads “To show that you are the children of your Father who is in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the wicked and on the good, and makes the rain fall upon the upright and the wrongdoers [alike].” Which answers the question, why does God allow His believers to suffer? There is no dividing line, n...

Day of Firsts

Image
The chickies were let out today. They left their hut slowly. Some flew, some crept, others waited to see what the others were finding on the ground before they left. It is always fun to watch their first time out of the hut! TURKIN They loved being out today in the sunshine chasing bugs!! The big ol' hens were shut out of the pen today so they would not pester the littles. I am still figuring out their breeds and it will be a bit before I figure out the sex. I know I have one roo in there because he is already crowing like a roo! The other firsts we had today was Mountain Man's first ride on the beauties! Picked them up over the weekend! Tonka the Paint and April the Walker. Both are broke and very nice personalities! We had an overall good day! Copyright © 2018 M.E. Masterson All Photographs Copyright © 2018 M.E. Masterson

Sunday Passage

Proverbs 31:10-31   King James Version (KJV) 10  Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. 11  The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. 12  She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. 13  She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. 14  She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. 15  She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. 16  She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. 17  She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. 18  She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. 19  She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. 20  She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her...
