Flooding Once Again, Update Removal
Well, the rains showed up on Tuesday night, no ice. 4+" of rain dropped overnight.
The new road is holding as of Wed. morning. The first creek crossing however is washed out. Mountain Man walked into the creek to see the level and he got as far as the top of his muck boots. He did not go any further. He said he could probably get us out in an emergency but anything else better not.
The ice did show up late Wednesday evening. It continues to rain surely bringing our totals around 8" +/- as they forecasted. We have more rain coming through Saturday. Uggghhhh!

After Harvey, my wife, and I, found we were basically on an island in the middle of what is now described as a thousand year flood. While the roads were not prone to wash away, with many covered with over five feet of water, we could only wait for the water to recede.
ReplyDeleteWe all had food and water, which made the event more of an inconvenient adventure. Unfortunately, too many others woke to find water rising in their homes, were rescued by boats, and found the high water mark was above their roofs.
I hope your rain event is only an inconvenience. Flood waters are one of the most dangerous, and destructive, things anyone will encounter during their lives.
oh most definitely! We are a prepared people. We do not worry about food, water etc. including power. It really is just an inconvenience and something to break up the hum drum of life! Thanks for stoppin by Jess!!
