After The Big Storm

Image
It is spring here as most of you know. During the spring season brings lots of rains and potential tornadoes. The round before last night was a doozy of a storm. It washed out on top of washouts which means going back and filling it in. After fixing two tires from the barn job, Mtn Man went to work getting gravel to fill in the washouts. He grated the road too! Adding More Dirt Then Level It Off More storms came through last night with even more rain. We have a day of sunshine hopefully tomorrow then about 4 days of stormy weather.  No I have had no chance to plant a single thing! The ground gets saturated just about the time it drys out a little it pours again over and over and over again. I feel bad for my Inlaws their garden has great potential for swim tryouts! Or Mud Wrestling! Hmm might suggest that to them. Despite all the rain my trees are putting on buds. Remember all the trees we planted last year, well dang it I can't find the post, ...

Out With It

This morning Mtn Man mentioned that he would like to get that locust tree in the front yard out of the way while the ground is frozen so we don't make ruts with the tractor. Okie Dokie after a quick run into town to turn in our contract bids we did just that! By the by we should here by the 9th whether we got the bid or not....praying we do. Mtn Man fell the tree and then took the tractor to clean up the mess. It turned out to be a 58 yr old tree no wonder it was falling apart a piece at a time. Me, well not really anything to do but be there in case something happened. We like to be each others support when doing these big projects just in case! Pics of the project....   ********************************************************************** I did get a little excitement today. I noticed Snickers the goat has made a bag!! Wippee!! While we were in town we picked up another lick tub for them. Boy howdy when they figured out tha...

Long Winded!

Yesterday was another beautiful day! Temps in the mid 50's and sunshine it is just what we needed! We rose to have our breakfast and we were off to the outdoors to accomplish something. We decided to start with the horse trailer you know the one sitting by the house with the blue tarp on it so tired of seeing this when you looked out the window. So we pulled the tarp off and moved the trailer closer to the storage shed so we could empty its contents, took a little doing but we managed to pull it off. Then we moved the many piles of things to just one so only one tree is suffering now(joking) not three and everything is in one spot. Tried with the 1-ton but as you see below it was muddy so had to use the tractor It was bright!  After getting things in order we decided to go up to our mill and try to cut some logs. This is so cool! This is my first real time in seeing this machine work. I think this is going to be addicting for the guys. We ended the night...
