Catching Up!
Now back to our regular scheduled blog post...LoL!
How was your week? Mine well, not exactly how I thought it would go.....
This last week in fact, was completely opposite of what we had planned for.
Last Sunday we were suppose to attend our first TG (Thanksgiving) supper. We dressed and got ready to go. Mtn Man went out to start the FJ which had been used as a table the day before over at the shop for meat processing. It was parked on a little incline. When he started it up it was making these awful noises. I asked if we should drive it and the reply was that it was low on tranny fluid but should be alright once we level out for a bit. I wasn't convinced but I loaded up anyway and off we go. About 10 miles down the road, it starts making another awful noise sounds way worse than tbe first...we chatted for a minute and decided to turn back around head for home. About mile back the noise had calmed down again. We made it safely home and made our phone calls to waiting friends and family.
Bright and Early Monday morning, for those of you who don't know Mary does not do well in early mornings. As of late there has been entirely to many to count! We headed for the shop(Ford dealership) to get an oil change and a transmission flush hoping this would fix our problem. Blew the whole day at the shop!! Needless to say, Mtn Man was not a happy camper! We ended up with a loaner car for couple hours to run some parts down for his tractor( which hadn't arrived until after we left that shop) and for his Ford truck (the one with the steering problem that caused it to honk on every turn). Both of these were a bust! When we got back our FJ was done and 245.00 later we left. On the way home the FJ was making an entirely different noise now...Arrrgggghhhh! Mtn Man said well we will call them and have them look at it in the morning on our way to work.
Bright and Early Tuesday morning...we stop by the shop. They jumped right on it and now we either had the fan clutch seizing up or it was the water pump going out. Reeallly! Mtn Man said well we are going to run it until it presents to be a problem or until the money fairy shows herself again. The noise went on for couple days but has now stopped. Hope to get it back into the shop this next week to get everything fixed on the 'ol girl! Tires, Windshield, Stabilizer Arm, Fan Stuff, Detailed and anything else we can come up with.
Thanksgivingwith his famly came and went onto Friday (we had plans to be at family supper(Thanksgiving) in TN this day but canceled because of car). The day was going great, until.........5 Hrs into my work day Mtn Man comes over in somebody else's rig and proceeds to explain to me that he has lost the car keys. What did you say? Yes I lost the car keys. Oh My...well I will drive the tractor over and see if we can find them. In the meantime, Peanut is left in the car. He explained to me that he had been looking for over 1 1/2 hrs along with three other guys. He explained where he was when he thought he lost them and had looked and looked. Peanut had locked herself in the car by now. My wallet, his wallet, our cellphones and everything were in the locked car. I prayed a lot!!! I couldn't do anything for Peanut except look for the keys which I did for a couple more hours. It is getting closer to dark....this fella shows up wanting to cut some wood. He helped looked for the keys and generously let Mtn Man use his cell to call the folks to rescue us. While we waited the couple hours for them we continued to look for the keys. This area we are looking is in leaves, brush and fallen tree tops. Not an easy find! Like finding a needle in a hay stack! Mtn Man decided to try to unlock the FJ with a branch he shoved in the open cracked window. He was successful and Peanut was excited to get out!
We gathered everything together from the car to load in the folks rig to take home. Did not want to leave anything in there in case of thieves and vandals. Headed back to house thinking maybe we had an extra key. The gate was locked so he and I walked the quarter mile in to the house. He grabbed the bolt cutter and four wheeler and headed back to the gate to let the folks in. I had an extra key for the house on his truck keys. Found the extra toyota key and we pottied and headed back out to see if maybe we could bring our girl home. Now it is 7pm and the key is a bust! We hadn't ate much of nothing all day so we all headed for chinese.
Mtn Man and I headed out (using FIL truck) on Saturday morning to find the keys back at the job site. We brought our metal detector(beep beep) to help in our search. When we arrived we were pleased to see that the car had not been messed with overnight. We started our search and about 15 mins went by and I hear "I found the keys". I wooped and hollered and thanked God! Gave Mtn Man a well deserved hug and kiss and then he handed me the keys and we headed home!!
Lesson: Gotta have an extra key made ASAP!
Today we worked on a new 50 acre pasture that we are leasing this winter. The fences were not to bad just had to run a bit of wire here and there. The horses are so happy to have good grass once again.
I am hoping for a better week this week!
