Catching Up

We arrived on the 2nd of November still able to enjoy a taste of fall in the south. The leaves changing were in full force and the further south we got the more the change was getting closer to their end. So needless to say, we have been blessed with a long fall this year. The temps are in the 50's/60's and lows in 30's/40's although we have had some teens as lows a few nights but this is still so much nicer than back in Southeast Montana.
Our Drive!
Trees
More Trees..

Did I mention Trees?

In our short time here we have already established a nickname with the locals, "Montana" is our new identity. We go to breakfast most every morning at the local cafe called "Hideaway Cafe" owned by Randy & Linda Smith. Wonderful food and Great People!!! This going to breakfast is a new deal with us but we are without a cooking stove at this moment so I am limited to the micro and crock pot and let's not forget the BBQ Grill outside. On Sundays we have to make up something to make on the grill side cooker which is a burner really. Last Sunday I made a T-bone steak and O'brien Potatoes for Hubby. Smiles All Around! yes this includes the dogs......
Ok so now on to the house...we have decided for sure now that the front portion is going to take a deep dive off a cliff and burn until the fire goes out! There is way to much to fix and by the time we did we might as well have built all new anyhow. The back portion we have decided is going to be our living space until further notice. One bedroom will become the kitchen/laundry combo and the other our sleeping/tv room.
I am in the process of painting the bathroom and hope to be finished with it tomorrow. I love the color, Violet Ice in Olympic Paints, using a paint I haven't used before, primer paint. Love Love Love it!

This was the wallpaper on the walls that I had to peal off

Before I could actually move the bedroom in permanent position, Hubby and FIL had to spend a couple days getting the floors shored up. The termite damage was extensive plus moisture makes a bad combo, hubby mentioned something about fingers poking thru a 2x8...yes it was not good! It is all good now!!

Our adventure continues...we are truly grateful to the "Man Upstairs". This is a beautiful peaceful spot that we GET to wake up to every morning!!!

Ps. Will Add A Recipe Tomorrow....

  1. Pretty pictures of your surrounding area. It sure looks like you've been very busy getting things situated. The violet ice color sounds wonderful.
