A Mousy Kind Of Spa Day

Image
Oh where to start.......... When day broke this morning we headed to the spa like we do most everyday, opened the lid and were hit with this site! Yes, Brown, Yucky Water!!! The temp is 104* and the smell is getting worse as the day goes on.....I pulled the filter to see if maybe I could figure out what could have possibly happened and it looks as if a mouse decided it wanted to try a night of bathing! So will have to wait until the weather gets above 30* and empty the spa, clean it(sanitize everything) and refill with fresh clean water. I have never seen anything like it........have to order more filters as I have used the two I had while switching over to our new way of keeping our spa. Can you see me convulsing all over from this? I sure hope we can get it all clean...... PS.....the smell in the laundry is coming from under the house...Mtn Man thinks it might be a dead rat from the shed we tore down. Does it ever end?? I know later on we will laugh about all this but now....arg...

Outing For A Day

Image
We started out this morning headed for the dr.'s office. The results from the MRI were what we thought...a badly torn Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and Meniscus which will require surgery to repair. Will see the surgeon next week. ********************************************************************************* We then headed to his folks to pay a visit and have a bite of lunch. I spent a bit of time with Curly..isn't he just beautiful? ********************************************************************************** As of the last 4 days we have had an awful smell of death coming from the laundry room. We moved the grill to the back deck thinking maybe that had something to do with it. Not it! Washed the soiled towels from grinding day. Not it! Lifted the washer and dryer looking under them for dead critters. Not it! Still on the hunt for the dead thingy...maybe under the house. Possibly we moved whatever it was out of it's home when we de...

Sunday on a Tuesday

Image
Again, we are anxious for spring as most of you are I am sure and have read. With yesterday temps in the mid to upper 50's and today in the early 20's. Our weather temps are so confused as to what we are supposed to have during this time of year. Absolutely insane especially for nature itself. We woke in the wee hours of the morning to a blasting wind which made me wonder if we weren't having a tornado. It was nuts! After checking on the weather to see what was happening we resumed our sleeping positions to wake to it being really cold this morning. Temps in the early teens and snow flurries. The snow did not amount to much but the wind did continue until late this afternoon and has now died down to a light breeze. So today we spent our day in a state of relaxation...watching movies, taking naps(for me is rare) and being lazy! Spending a Tuesday like a Sunday should..... Tomorrow we hope to have some answers on Mtn Man's MRI for his knee and hope to have the surge...

Sunday Visit

Image
Mtn Man and I started the day with all these plans of building things and once again The "Man Upstairs" had other plans for us. Yesterday we had some friends call and say they were coming over for a visit that was much needed. They live in town and have high octane stressful lives and every once in a while they need to come to Ozark's Serenity Acres to just have a chill for a bit. We went for a walk around the place, burned a brush pile and had a meal together while chatting about the happenings of their lives. It really was a nice day! Copyright © 2014 M.E. Grinding Party

Image
Ah, you that have your minds in the gutter come on out! We  had some leftover deer meat that we always leave for grinding so we thawed it out and today we had the folks over for a grinding party! See it is all clean stuff! We ground about 50lbs of deer meat in about 1 1/2 hrs. The ground returned to the freezer and the clean up was easy. We ROOOCCCCKKKK! Even the dogs were in on the waiting party...... Thanks for stopping by! Copyright © 2014 M.E. Masterson All Photographs Copyright © 2014 M.E. Masterson

Smoked Lamb

Image
Mtn Man decided to smoke some lamb today. We have had some bad experience with mutton in the past but today that has changed our minds about lamb. It is a really rich meat but was so tasty! This leg piece and lamb chops were smoked for about 7 hrs. Really nice crust and moist meat! Served it with a sweet potato and spring mix salad! Copyright © 2014 M.E.
