The cabin fever is no gonna hold us down!!   Yesterday started out cold but it did warm up a bit (40's). Things started melting. I went about my business doing chores. I went out to the goat barn with a bit of hay. I like to give them a bit of fresh (as opposed to the round bales they pick through) every other day only because I tend to give them to much. But it ends up being bedding for them too! I do hope this year we can get some hay racks made for the little barn. Anyhoo, I stood and watched like I do and noticed the buck getting a bit more aggressive with the doe. So much so that she was blocking his butts! He kept at it antagonizing her, pushing her off the food. This worried me because she is so close to having little ones that I went to thinkin'! I came back to the house and talked it over with Mtn Man. He was enjoying his pipe in his "forward command center" (His oversized chair on the front porch). She is getting tired of being couped up in the home but knows there isn't much else she can do. While in Cape we stopped off at Staples and Best Buy to buy parts and pieces to fix our two laptops. Did I mention Windy? It is dang cold too. I believe the weather people said it was about 16* windchill. Bit nippy! So no the guys are not working on the shop today. This wind started in the wee hours of the morning and had a bit of flurries off and on throughout the morning. So they are off fetching supplies and such today. Progress you ask well here it is....mind ya I made a run yesterday for the guys to fetch some more boards (13) because somebodies count was off plus another roll of tar paper. Friends for those of you who don't know SciFi Chic has gone to the other side. I was totally in the dark on this and needed clarification which I received via Sandy from oklahomatransient.blogspot.com  .  SciFi's blog  http://baconandeggs-scifichick.blogspot.com/   , which so many of you who stop at my porch come from, is full of useful information for those who are interested in storing food or cooking/baking it. It makes for a great read. Her last post was Aug 10th and even tho she was "In the weeds" she still found time to reply on the 12th. This is us wishing her family best wishes.
