It Started On Tuesday

I received an phone call from a dear friend of mine back home (on the western side of Montana). She had informed me that her book had been submitted to Kindle thru Amazon and she was anxious to hear whether it would be published or not. I received this email this morning..... "I have just received word that my book "It Started On Tuesday" has been published! You can buy it for $2.99 on your Kindle, iPad, iPhone, iPad Touch, PC, Mac, Blackberry, and Android based devices. You may be able to get it downloaded on your computers through www.kindle.com ...... To find the book from all the titles, type in mystery or murder.... and that will bring up murder mystery titles. Do hope you enjoy reading "It Started On Tuesday".............. Love to all, Barbara" I am so EXCITED for her!!! It really is a good book, I personally could not put it down. Makes for a great read! Congrats my friend!!!!! Ps. You can just type in the title on...

Community Connections

Ooooooo...SO EXCITED! I just got a call from a friend/neighbor(thank you P) who was telling me about this community co-op...she asked me if I had heard of it..and much to her surprise I hadn't! Tell me more.....so I went to the website Bountiful Baskets . This is so awesome, all contributions made by purchasing a basket of vegies/fruits goes entirely to purchasing the goods by the volunteers(run by 100% volunteers) to give to the community who are involved in the co-op. It was explained to me that a basket is about the size of a small round laundry basket you can find at Wal-mart for a contibution of $15.00-$25.00(each basket depending on whether you opt to have organic or not) plus there are other choices on the order page for extras if you like. This Co-op is run all over the U.S. To find out more go to the website and check out where the locations are by state and it is as easy as registering on the site and placing your order. There is more about how much it costs etc on the p...

Boo Boo

I, personally, hadn't ever seen a calf or cow with a cast. But this baby was three days old when she was stepped on and we thought if it can be fixed let's do it. It doesn't seem to bother her any she gets around just like any other calf. She runs around and plays just like the others. I thought it was cute so I wanted to share. She will have this on for three weeks.....and hopefully it will have healed correctly! Crossing our fingers, it is a 50/50 chance that it is right..... We have rain today! We, Mother in law and I, were going to go to another ranch and watch a good ol' fashion ropin' draggin' brandin' but the weather has shut us down. The guys went over very early and we were to follow but we have decided to bag it today. The folks are from Missouri so all of this would be a new experience for them and ours is a bit different, oh well, Mom will get to see ours which she says she will be happy to see. The less we have to walk in the mud the better...

3 day event

Image
As I said yesterday they started gathering up the pairs from the lower field and they hung out around the house here last night. Today they separated out the Mama's from the "To Be" Mama's. They will stay around  the house here and the Mama's and their babies will be moved to another field where there is more grass for them to eat.

Chicken Coop

To start the day the crew went out to move the pairs from the lower half. Grass has runned out! So my mission today was to get the Chicky's in their new home...I re-purposed the old house that sits out back by picking the best room in the house where the little ones would not be in danger of critters and would be safe from the weather.... So I trekked over to the horse trailer where I moved them about week and half ago and started moving all the necessary items for them to grow and flourish in their new home! I called Finkbeiner's this morning and since April was headed to town today asked her to go by and pick up all the new goodies for the birds! First I had to move all the rotten, mouse turd infested furniture that was left in the room then I swept the carpet that was left in the room which I left for insulation. Then I layed down the bag of shavings I bought just for this project. Re-purposed the kitchen drawers, the old stereo box, and a homemade microwave car...
