18 Year Anniversary

Image
Not a wedding anniversary or the day I quit smoking anniversary or a job anniversary. This would be the death of my only two children's' anniversary. This day is a somber one for me.....I look back on the memories with happiness now instead of anger and despair. My babies are in a better place and some day I will get to be there with them! Every year (not day, oops!) on this day is a special day for my household. This is the Anniversary of the death of my two "babies". Around 5:30 pm, 17 yrs ago both of my children, their daddy and stepmom were killed in Oregon heading to the coast for spring break camping trip. Hit by a drunk driver who was on his way home from work. http://victimsofadrunkdriver.blogspot.com/ Today we had marked this day to bury their urn, plant some flowers over in the pines that I had picked out but due to weather(snow flurries and wind chill of freezing) I have postponed it! Maybe this weekend it will happen. I have waited for a place of permanence to put this urn and all its memories that are inside. Their ashes are no longer in it but their are some trinkets and notes and things from everybody that will stay in the urn and will be buried. Their crosses that someone made for them are buried in our moving container so probably wont' get to them until a later date. Oh, well this to...

Post Christmas

Our Christmas this year came in with a BANG! To start a friend of ours broke her leg just above her ankle so she was out of commission for Christmas Supper then we got a message that other friend`s fathers were both in the hospital. His father has heart issues and her father was being sent home for hospice care. When we left Christmas Eve I decided I better pack a bag as we didn`t know if maybe things would progress with either father. What I didn`t know is it wasn`t them we had to worry about, it would be Mtn Man. He had an injury of the knee from this last June from a cow kick and we were in the process of getting a surgeon to fix it. Well Christmas Eve I hear Mtn Man screaming for me and I ran out of the house to find him bouncing around holding up his leg. What happened? He fell out of the truck bed...he was emptying heavy things and one of them caught him and out he came. Blowing out his knee as he fell! Off we flew to the ER to find that he has a broken bone, bl...

Two Amazing People

This last year I was on Facebook and was looking around for people I knew past and present. I ran into Erin Mounsey, but I noticed that something had happened to him it was quite apparent by his looks. To be honest I was in shock! You see Erin was in an accident that included Fire! Here is his story, http://www.phoenix-society.org/downloads/_acct_/00/00/22/95/road_to_recovery_erin_mounsey.pdf . After reading his story I was anxious to know more about his wife, Melisa Scheoppler-Mounsey, who also suffered from a fiery accident and her story http://www.phoenix-society.org/downloads/resources/melisa_schoeppler_20110613_111036_3.pdf . These two people on separate paths trying to find their self worth again, learning to live their lives for themselves and finding God in their lives also found each other. They are very busy people, helping others deal with tragedies in their lives. It must seem to be such a comfort to others that they are willing to put themselves out there, even with ev...
