Redneck Remodel

Friday we had an appt with our local grocer. We went to ask for a good price on bulk meat and case goods. We would like to keep our buying with the little guy if at all possible. We ordered bacon 30#, pork steaks #80, whole chickens #80 , ribs #?? (he said about 8 racks to a case or so), burger 60# and we can make our own sausage with the scraps from the butt roast that we make the steaks with. It will be a lot of work but well worth it as the prices are rising every week. They have risen by 90cents on some things and others as little as 30 cents which makes like the hamburger go from $3 to around $4 the pork steaks went from $2.69 to $2.99 a lb. And bacon went from $3.99 to $5.99 lb. So with our discounts the prices were considerable lower.
I brought home a case of bacon and wrapped it in pound packages for the freezer. It is nice to get our freezer stocked again.

Today, Saturday, Auntie M and her friend came over with the folks on her way home. It was nice to meet D and see Auntie M been a bit since she moved away.
While FIL was still here he helped us move out the old boat anchor of a fridge and in with a used double door fridge we brought down from Montana. It was a huge ordeal!  We had to remove the doors from the unit to get in the house through the door. Including cutting out the cabinet to make the fit.

The Old Fridge which came with the house.

We also brought in the portable dishwasher. Just have to find a connector for the faucet to make it work.

At least Mtn Man didn't resort to using a chainsaw on this remodel!
