Making Memories

Image
Ok so yesterday we left the farm early about 7 am headed for the Inlaws house. We had been invited over for a luncheon and some fellowship. Mtn Man had to return his dads pickup and trailer so I followed in the FJ. When we arrived we said our hello's and they were off to empty the tiller off the trailer. Then they ran to town with trailer in tow to Cousin Dave's house to help him transport an older truck that was going to the shop at the high school. With no hitches they arrived back in a short time. We waited for the arrival of his cousins for a much needed visit! I told ya last week that Mtn Man's great uncle had died well his daughter (D) and her husband (P) who are about the folks age are the cousins in question. P gets so excited about things on the farm. They both are city folks and anything farm related is just a treat for them. MIL, bless her heart, made up a big meal for everybody with a little help from me. The guys built a campfire in the pit out front. We all ...

Burnin'

Today we buried his great uncle Bill. The preacher was good! Uncle Bill was a fine man and will be sorely missed! ******************************************************************************** Came home and started the garden on fire! Will let that burn through the night and tomorrow put the hurts to it with the big tiller! Until next time...give your loved ones a big hug and kiss! Say a prayer for the ones who are to far away.... Did you get this notice on your dashboard? https://support.google.com/blogger/answer/6170671?p=policy_update&hl=en&rd=1 I don't think I have anything naughty on my blog anywhere? Well we shall see what comes of it......glad to see they are taking some sort of moral stand tho' ....Go Blogger!   Well the snow is still on the ground for those you who are wondering...glistens in the sunshine! Yes Icy still on top. Today got up to 40* which was nice. We are expecting more snow/ice over the weekend. Today we ran into Cape to see grandma J. She is doing well. She is getting tired of being couped up in the home but knows there isn't much else she can do. While in Cape we stopped off at Staples and Best Buy to buy parts and pieces to fix our two laptops. I watched how hard drives were changed in my desktop and thought how hard could it be in the others. Not very! Did have to buy new software for them. Right now they are working beautifully. The only thing is now we...

Breakfast Out & Work Day

Image
Breakfast At The Bistro Mtn Man took me out for breakfast at our local restaurant. Very good food! If you find yourself in the area of Marquand be sure to stop and have a bite!!  ****************************************************************************** The shop progression over the last few days is amazing! It has taken on a whole nother look! Thank you DS our "Human Monkey" and FIL for all your help on this project thus far! I catch Mtn Man looking out the window peering at his shop. I think he is a bit excited about his over size dog house! LOL! Man Cave! LOL! Whatever you want to call it...his dream come true! Maybe now he will be able to find his tools when he needs them instead of "honey do you know where I put ....?" LOL! You could say I am excited too! Within 2 wks we will have the trusses and then they can lay the roofing. In the meantime, we will cut the siding on the mill out of pine so it is ready. Finish up a couple outside projects like t...

Redneck Remodel

Friday we had an appt with our local grocer. We went to ask for a good price on bulk meat and case goods. We would like to keep our buying with the little guy if at all possible. We ordered bacon 30#, pork steaks #80, whole chickens #80 , ribs #?? (he said about 8 racks to a case or so), burger 60# and we can make our own sausage with the scraps from the butt roast that we make the steaks with. It will be a lot of work but well worth it as the prices are rising every week. They have risen by 90cents on some things and others as little as 30 cents which makes like the hamburger go from $3 to around $4 the pork steaks went from $2.69 to $2.99 a lb. And bacon went from $3.99 to $5.99 lb. So with our discounts the prices were considerable lower. I brought home a case of bacon and wrapped it in pound packages for the freezer. It is nice to get our freezer stocked again. ****************************************************************************** Today, Saturday, Auntie M an...
