Adventures Of Life!

This morning Mtn Man mentioned that he would like to get that locust tree in the front yard out of the way while the ground is frozen so we don't make ruts with the tractor. Okie Dokie after a quick run into town to turn in our contract bids we did just that! By the by we should here by the 9th whether we got the bid or not....praying we do. Mtn Man fell the tree and then took the tractor to clean up the mess. It turned out to be a 58 yr old tree no wonder it was falling apart a piece at a time. Me, well not really anything to do but be there in case something happened. We like to be each others support when doing these big projects just in case! We still have snow. In fact, it has been snow flurries all day. Nothin' stickin' around but here nonetheless. It was cold last night and first thing I hear this morning is that dang goat, Snickers. Maw Maw come give me grain Maw Maw. I had coffee first maybe two cups then went out to do my chores. I think she may go down the road after she has her babies and they are weined. I just about can't stand that cryin' in our little Serenity Valley. If momma (me) is upset the whole valley is upset! I had to laugh at myself cuz it reminded me of a post I read the other day on Krazo Acres about her goats screamin too! Even caught Mtn Man yellin back at her to shut up. Gets under ones skin and makes you cringe like nails on a chalkboard! I can't fix it and can't ignore it....makes my ears hurt! Anyh...

We headed out yesterday morning to round up work for ourselves. Handing out business cards to folks who had horses. That was fun! Wherever there were horses we would pull in the drive, Mtn Man would get out knock on the door and talk to whomever answered leaving them with a business card or two. Looking the "Ol' Fashion Way" as the youngins would say! We got to see a lot of country that I hadn't seen before. Stopped off at a couple of cemeteries to take pics...which is one of my hobbies....and always fun to see how old they are. Went by a place out there in the hills that had a huge atrium that housed some palm trees in it! We stopped long enough to take a couple of pics....    Met some interesting folks out in these hills!  We will venture out to the north for more work this week......Hopefully something will pop!  Spring is right around the corner....Sunday's temp was a huge tease 69*...GORGEOUS!! Stopped in the little town of Silva and found this...

I guess I should start with and maybe I have mentioned this already but our work situation has changed once again. The job up north was revamped by the owner of the property. He decided to have the bigger machinery come in and finish what they started. He brought in another "crew" to finish the clean up which put us out of work. Will not put all our eggs in one basket ever again, lesson learned. Business is Business. We will still pursue our business of this nature just weight it out a bit more carefully. We are truly taking everything in stride! God has his plans and we are waiting or at least trying to wait on Him. We have put our feet out there on numerous different avenues and are just waiting to see which pops out at us. Today Mtn Man is having an interview with the USPS. It is a part time position right here in our hometown.. We shall see...... This last week/weekend, can't recall which, we went over and messed with the horses for a bit. ( Forgot my Camera that...

We have been so busy lately!! With the new job we took on and the cold weather we have just been busy (occupied, engaged, involved, having a great deal to do). Before Today I thought maybe I could show ya what we have been up to which would sum up our whole week in pics! And as always love hearing from ya!! Keep 'em comin'......
