Fixin'

Image
Mtn Man fixed the wood stove door with a couple flat metal sheets and a large bolt! Works great! He is out shoveling off the back porch of what is left of snow and ice. Looks like this week will warm up finally! I don't think we are out of the woods but it will be a nice break. In Laws are still under the weather and so am I! Do hope this dang thing don't hang on to long!  Well until Monday! Have a blessed weekend!  If you want to leave a COMMENT please EMAIL me (MARYE.MASTERSON@GMAIL.COM) Love hearing from ya! Day 15

Image
Update on my Bronchitis/Pnuemonia: I am doing lots better but still have a ways to go. I am stronger than I was yesterday. I still have a cough but all the other symptoms are pretty much gone. Yeah. Spending time outside is limited especially with this ccccoooolllldddd weather we are having. I got out in it yesterday for a few minutes and had a hacking attack which ends up hurting. Still not a lot of energy but I attribute that to lack of oxygen, really!  I am hopeful that I don't relapse or get anything else this winter! ******************************************************************************************** In the meantime, I have been working on some beading projects. For Sale Applique $50 or can make into custom piece for addl cost If interested in other new projects look for us on Facebook under Beavertail Trading Post *********************************************************************** PLEASE DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE...CALL A FRIEND CALL A CAB OR H...

Dr. Results

Image
Dr. visit results....Tested negative for both flu and strep, positive for Bronchitis with touch of Pneumonia. Under orders to stay home, get rest and stay away from others who have potential to be sick. Have lots of help from prescriptions but one of the pills lowers your immune system while fixing the illness. Have seven days of that so will not be going anywhere for awhile. We are staying home for Christmas... Thank you for all the loving emails and Facebook support.... If you want to leave a COMMENT please EMAIL me (MARYE.MASTERSON@GMAIL.COM) Love hearing from ya! Watch While I Hack

Image
I am still sick with the crud....it has now evolved into my chest with croupy stuff. I am off to the doctor today to see if maybe they can get me something to prevent it from getting to bad. It started out dry and is now wet best I can describe.Sinuses are full up...nose is sore. Nothing alarming there. And it is extremely painful to cough...hoping it isn't pneumonia.  But on a lighter note I found this cool video to share..made me smile! Whole neighborhood in sync.... I love these music house lights.... I look forward to Christmas time! If you want to leave a COMMENT please EMAIL me (MARYE.MASTERSON@GMAIL.COM) Love hearing from ya! Day Three

Image
Good, Bad And The Ugly! That's what this blog is all about, right?  Not very often that I get sick...but this gal has caught an ugly bug. Low grade fever, dry cough and over all feel like something is attacking me from the inside out! I do not do sick that well. I feel guilty which comes from my upbringing really. If you were sick you almost had to be on death's door to stay home from school. If you did...stayed in bed all by yourself. Feed yourself (making your own meals unless you were younger) and couldn't really do anything other than stay in bed. You were made to feel isolated and guilty for feeling ill. It took an act of congress for me to be sick....and if I was I hated it! My step mother was in dire need of bedside manners. LOL!  My hubby is taking good care of me when I let him...LOL.  I hope to be feeling better soon....hope this bug leaves soon!!!!   If you want to leave a COMMENT please EMAIL me (MARYE.MASTERSON@GMAIL.COM) Love hearing from ...

Ending with a Blow

Image
The wind showed up with a bang. As we speak insulation is flying off the house where we took the siding off for the movers on the house. It will probably land in the next county before somebody will be able to pick it up. We here at the ranch keep a close eye on the weather and non of us expected this today. They said this morning 20% chance of moisture which in this country means nothing! Not today, it brought pea size hail and spots of rain and GUSTY winds! We almost had everything done we had planned on getting accomplished today! Oh well always tomorrow! Hubby and I tagged a few new calves this morning then went out to gather all our mineral barrels of all sizes. We had to go to the 20,000 gal water tank, pick up the pump and set the pipes to drain the ENTIRE tank to get it ready to move. I will probably have a lake out back when it is done, fresh water for the horses not so bad. Then we went out to the Windmill pasture (speaks for itself) and picked up these huge tanks, that us...

Head Colds A Plenty!

Image
Both of us ended up with a head cold. Doggonnit anyhow! Hubs caught it first and I thought maybe I was gonna have to take a trip with him to the Doc. Under much protest we waited one more day and he seems a ton better today! He is really prone to pneumonia and I was afraid it was droppin into that zone from all the hacking I was hearing everyday! Then yesterday it hit me like a ton of bricks, so today we are taking it a bit easy. My throat last night felt like a sheet of sandpaper but it is much better today. Hopefully, we are on the mend. And hope FIL don't catch it! FIL returned this morning as it would have been really late last night and our road is not nice when it's been rainin. 8 miles of mud and muck. Most people around here don't like our road on a good day! When he gets here it is always a whirlwind of excitement. He always brings lots of goodies for us and this time was no different. While he was home he had smoked a pork shoulder and guess what's for sup...
