Finally Found Their Way To Me!

Image
For the rest of the story... A week after my birthday i received an email from a lady who found something that she felt belonged to me. She continued in this email to tell me that she found my email addy through my website about my kids. She then said she didn't want to upset my world but she found their headstones! I WAS FLOORED!! So my hubby gets on the phone and chats with her because i was a MESS!  For those who have Not read my book...my bio mother had kept them from me for 23 yrs!!! And apparently when she left to move yet again she left the stones behind! This lady had bought a house that she is remodeling. In her back yard she was removing a chicken run and found what she thought were paving stones and then to her surprise she found these. Sooo after digesting this news we moved to make arrangements to get them shipped back to me. They arrived today!! They are FINALLY home with me where they belong!! Thank you God!! Will be forever grateful to this lady, you know who you ar...

Alterations Made

Image
Saturday we made the trip over to Joplin to drop off the screamer and her babies. Loaded up Lyfa and headed south to Arkansas. We got a call before we left asking us to come on down to see his sister. We thought we were that close (1 1/2 hrs), why not? It was really nice to see the family. Kids soaked it up. Mtn Man's Mini next to him We also brought Little Man with us on this trip for his new home. He went to Arkansas to a breeder. How fortunate could we have gotten!! I am happy that everything went smoothly. Lyfa is back in a new home (the goat pen modified a little) and I think she likes having a bit of quiet time to herself. She seems content!  We took out the divider in the shed and tied open the doors she could come and go as she pleased.  Even at 23 yrs old she is curious! Came back last evening to rest on our front porch. It was so lovely to hear the quiet once again. Serenity Valley is once again, peaceful! Love hearing from ya!!!!  FOLLOW US...

Mother's Day Message

Image
I realize tomorrow is officially Mother's Day but most of you will be busy. So let me say (Source: GA National Guard Twitter)   I will share with you what I wrote the other day on FB. It got a lot of good response: Mother's Day is a difficult holiday for some of us gals out here.... some who never had children (wanting them) some who are still trying and those of us who have and lost in one form or another. I loved being a momma to my kids....so happy and grateful that God gave me that opportunity. You mothers out there who still have your "babies" no matter the age be sure to give them your extra attention in the spirit of us who can't give ours their much deserved hugs from their mommas. Thank you to my husband and my in-laws for including me in Mother's day. You never forget and for that I am eternally grateful! Happy Mother's Day To All Who Didn't Get The Chance or Are Still Trying or Have Lost Your Babies! xoxo Again I want t...

Sunday Passage

Yesterday I was thinking and for me sometimes it means having a chat with the man upstairs. I was walking to the chicken pen and asked out loud wonder what scripture I should share in tomorrow post. And in popped Prov 3:10. Couldn't recall what it said but said alrighty will send it out. 10  So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. May all your efforts be blessed! Love hearing from ya!!!! FOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK TOO! https://www.facebook.com/adventuresofmylife Copyright © 2015 M.E. Masterson All Photographs Copyright © 2015 M.E. Windy Windy

Image
Did I mention Windy? It is dang cold too. I believe the weather people said it was about 16* windchill. Bit nippy! So no the guys are not working on the shop today. This wind started in the wee hours of the morning and had a bit of flurries off and on throughout the morning. So they are off fetching supplies and such today. Progress you ask well here it is....mind ya I made a run yesterday for the guys to fetch some more boards (13) because somebodies count was off plus another roll of tar paper. They didn't get it laid last night because the wind was picking up to much. ****************************************************************************** On another note I wanted to mention..yesterday's post Local Stops brought almost 500 page views to my blog! I usually have 100 page views daily. That has never happened in the history of this blog. Thanks Everybody!! Was astonished at that number...... Before to long this blog will have had 40,000 page views which is ...

Sunday Passage

Image
After traveling around catching up on blogs I enjoy reading this chapter in Proverbs seemed appropriate. Proverbs Chapter 3  1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: 2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. 3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: 4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. 5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. 9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: 10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. 11 My son, d...

Rainy day

Image
Well we woke to a steady rain this morning. The kind that will soak into the ground slowly.....we can hope right? We are thinking this will be an all day deal. So I think we will do some more packing!! Hubby mentioned to me this morning how blessed he felt we were, in that we got the container out of here and the horses done yesterday before the rains. Aahhhhh! We will probably do a little resting today as well. See what tomorrow brings......

November

Image
I see I am a little bit behind on my blogs...I apologize.....busy girl I am. The month of November is full of fun! After separating out the calves from their mommas, we kept 110 replacements and sent the rest off to market. In the first week of the month, Hubby hitched a ride with a friend who was headed back over West. He spent the night and picked up his 1-ton "brown bomber" that stayed behind for much needed work to her. He came home the following day. In the second week we saw temps drop down in the teens and I believe we saw our first snow then too! The boss decided we needed to get our water system set up and in a hurry so they thought.  A 30,000 gal tank was delivered at the end of Oct beg of Nov and electrical box was attached and line ditched for electrical and all the goodies added to make this work. Unfortunately, it wasn't finished until couple days ago, but it is running none the less! Cows should not ever run out of water!!! In the middle of the month...

Changes in Life Status!

Image
It starts the morning of Saturday, June 4th. Tom takes off early for a shoeing job before his prison job. Now he has been telling me for at least three weeks that he wants to find something else to do as the prison is getting under his skin. So I decided to pray about this for a bit and come Saturday morning my answer was given, start putting out resumes for him. I would do this for any friend who I saw wasn't happy so why not my husband. This mind you is not something he knows about YET! About an half an hour after I put out 12 resumes Tom receives a phone call on his cell, the fellow and him talked for an hour. After this call Tom called me and asked if I wanted to go ranchin'? I was beside myself...well Hell yes I did! He said well now wait a minute before I jump the gun and start packin' we needed to go and check the place out! He said we will be moving 600 miles away and the move will be expensive etc, but lets go check it out! Then the conversation mov...
