Crazy Weather And Baby Calves!

Image
Today we experienced quite a few snow storms with a few white out systems. It was not the optimum time for calves to be born. But a cow missed the memo, and we ended up early this morning with a heifer. She was so cold, that we raced to get her back to the house to warm her up. Yes, we did try to bring her mama back with us but she did not want anything to do with that at all. So the guys went out and gathered her up to be joined with her mama later in the afternoon. Sometimes their hormones do weird things and they lose their minds, leaving their babies to fend for themselves, if we were not diligent they would die. But it turns out this baby is alive and she is healthy! I anxious for spring to come! Gotta get on my list of things to order for spring, like my little chicks. Yes gonna have me some chickens, with the price of gas goin up we have made an executive decision to get ourselves even more prepared! By up my extras now, and get things ready for our BIG garden. Thin...

Valentine's Day

This is what my hubby bought me today! Happy Valentine's Day to Everybody!

Two Amazing People

This last year I was on Facebook and was looking around for people I knew past and present. I ran into Erin Mounsey, but I noticed that something had happened to him it was quite apparent by his looks. To be honest I was in shock! You see Erin was in an accident that included Fire! Here is his story, http://www.phoenix-society.org/downloads/_acct_/00/00/22/95/road_to_recovery_erin_mounsey.pdf . After reading his story I was anxious to know more about his wife, Melisa Scheoppler-Mounsey, who also suffered from a fiery accident and her story http://www.phoenix-society.org/downloads/resources/melisa_schoeppler_20110613_111036_3.pdf . These two people on separate paths trying to find their self worth again, learning to live their lives for themselves and finding God in their lives also found each other. They are very busy people, helping others deal with tragedies in their lives. It must seem to be such a comfort to others that they are willing to put themselves out there, even with ev...

I felt so special today.....my hubby decided we needed to go for a ride, so we did! What a beautiful day it was, the sun was shining and the cows were grazing and the wind was quiet! After we rode for a couple hours, hubby decided to get back on our paint horse. He did nicely today, I even was given the opportunity to get on him....... Maybe we can do it all again tomorrow???????
