THANK YOU IS NOT ENOUGH

We are so grateful for all of those who are serving our country, past, present and future. Never lose sight of who you are fighting for! Those of us here at home "the little people" really do appreciate your service! Our condolences go out to all those families who have lost a loved one who served in the military for your country. Although the stories are that the Pilgrims came up with this day(at least that is what I was taught), the truth is that a courageous, outstanding woman of the 1800's thought it up all by herself probably with God's nudging! When this holiday was put into affect we as a nation were in the middle of the Civil War and were in need of such a holiday. Thank you Sarah and President Lincoln. Sarah Josepha (Buell) Hale may be the individual most responsible for making Thanksgiving a national holiday in the United States; it had previously been celebrated only in New England. Each state scheduled its own holiday, some as early as October and others as late as January; it was largely unknown in the American South. Her advocacy for the national holiday began in 1846 and lasted 17 years before it was successful. In support of the proposed national holiday, Hale wrote letters to five Presidents of the United States : Zachary Taylor , Millard Filmore , Franklin Pierce , James Buch...

No matter what time or how you served, the point is that you did for your country. To me it takes a brave, courageous individual to make that step. It takes a belief in our country to protect her shores and her people. And in this time of history with the type of leader we have, Muslim, it takes a determination and conviction for our country that I think we have never seen before, to SERVE. I believe God is with you ALL. Continue to be strong, courageous and brave because those of us at home are grateful for your service! Garden Keeps Giving

We are amazed at this garden! We thank God for it everyday...... Today I went out to the sopping wet garden with Mtn Man's boots on...yes, a pic in of itself, thank goodness he didn't get that one....and picked to my little hearts content in between rain showers. We just heard the Tornado Watch Warning come over our two way radios so we are in for a day of it. Here are some pics from the garden may it bring you sunshine! Turnips, Green Beans, Jalapenos, Broccoli, Tomatoes and Tomatillos Peppers.... From left to right: Turnips, Green Beans, Beets and last row is half and half Carrots, Kohlrabi Tomatoes are still trying.... Be Joyful and don't let anybody take that from ya! Hello Everybody, I do mean everybody...isn't blogging great? Some days I am in awe of how many of you come to see my little ol' blog page and other times I wonder what in the world attracts so many people to my blog? Just Amazin'!
