THANK YOU IS NOT ENOUGH

Image
We are so grateful for all of those who are serving our country, past, present and future. Never lose sight of who you are fighting for! Those of us here at home "the little people" really do appreciate your service! Our condolences go out to all those families who have lost a loved one who served in the military for your country. May you find comfort in the thought that they are someone's hero! Much love to you all!   Love hearing from ya!!!!  FOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK TOO! https://www.facebook.com/adventuresofmylife Copyright © 2015 M.E. Masterson All Photographs Copyright © 2015 M.E. Mother's Day Message

Image
I realize tomorrow is officially Mother's Day but most of you will be busy. So let me say (Source: GA National Guard Twitter)   I will share with you what I wrote the other day on FB. It got a lot of good response: Mother's Day is a difficult holiday for some of us gals out here.... some who never had children (wanting them) some who are still trying and those of us who have and lost in one form or another. I loved being a momma to my kids....so happy and grateful that God gave me that opportunity. You mothers out there who still have your "babies" no matter the age be sure to give them your extra attention in the spirit of us who can't give ours their much deserved hugs from their mommas. Thank you to my husband and my in-laws for including me in Mother's day. You never forget and for that I am eternally grateful! Happy Mother's Day To All Who Didn't Get The Chance or Are Still Trying or Have Lost Your Babies! xoxo Again I want t...

4th of July Weekend

Image
We spent the week getting ready for the BIG Event. Mowing, Trimming, Cleaning Up And Setting Up the Tee Pee. This might not seem like a lot, but it truly is.... This week we get the lease acres wired off and move horses. Back to the Big Event.... His two sisters live in St. Louis while the other lives in Rogers, Arkansas and the folks live near Cape Girardeau while our friends live close to the folks. Everybody made their way over to our place Friday morning. They all came in with tents, coolers, chairs and tons of food!  We sat around and visited moving as a crowd to the shade when it moved. Some left to find a swimming hole while others took naps or visited or rode 4 wheelers or whatever. That's the fun of getting together, everybody can do whatever they desire.... Within reason, of course!  Then come Saturday everybody was gone by noon! And we crashed!!!! Had so much fun.... Look forward to next year! Mowed...

Sunday Passage-Mother's Day

Image
My son and I early 90's "The modern American holiday of Mother's Day was first celebrated in 1908, when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother in Grafton, West Virginia . Her campaign to make "Mother's Day" a recognized holiday in the United States began in 1905, the year her beloved mother, Ann Reeves Jarvis, died. Anna’s mission was to honor her own mother by continuing work she had started and to set aside a day to honor mothers, "the person who has done more for you than anyone in the world." Anna's mother, Ann Jarvis, was a peace activist who had cared for wounded soldiers on both sides of the Civil War and created Mother’s Day Work Clubs to address public health issues. Due to the campaign efforts of Anna Jarvis, several states officially recognized Mother's Day, the first in 1910 being West Virginia, Jarvis’ home state. In 1914 Woodrow Wilson signed the proclamation creating Mother’s Day, the second Sunday in M...

Tree Day...

Image
Today was a lovely day with my hubby. He took me out for lunch at the local tasty freeze which was a nice change. Saw quite a few people that we haven't seen in awhile. Then we drove over to check on the horses in the winter range and they still look fat and sassy! We didn't think we were going to have a christmas tree this year, but surprise we went to the woods and found us a tree! A Charlie Brown Tree it ended up being....I think he would be proud! Now to find some presents to put under the tree ???? We decided to take some pics of ourselves in front of the tree and the first one , we laughed at ourselves as we were hiding the tree so we knelt down in front of our tree. Our first Christmas together as a married couple! We are a goofy pair.....at least we can laugh at ourselves.
