Got Water?

Hope everybody had a wonderful weekend!
Went over and visited with Grandma J yesterday. It is always a joy to see her!

Got home and went to spend some time in our shelter. Crazy winds (60 mph) whipped our trees around like they were sticks with flags on them! I haven't ever seen that here! We were under Tornado Watch and Severe Storm Warning. That eventually went by and then another came in last night with strong thunder, lightening and rain!

The water is draining out the sides
Woke to lots of flooding this morning....
It is good that my chickies have a big pen to roam in....

As in times past the water is flowing down our road.

The work that Mtn Man did on the creek did not hold up. In fact, you really can't even see what he did except on little island. It has washed out !
I was trying to find a pic without my rear in it ...sorry! But can you see in the background the mounds of dirt he banked up to control the flow..... not any more! Water is so powerful!
Here is the crossing over to the goats...

We intend on placing some culverts in so we don't have these issues anymore

It turns out that we have had over the last couple days 7 3/4 inches of rain! Spring time in the Ozarks!

Love hearing from ya!!!!

  1. Oh my gosh, girl! Hope the culverts take care of the problem. Looks to me like you could use a canoe. The northern tail of that storm came through here last night, but just dropped a little rain and not more than a breeze to go along with it. Cooled the air enough so that I had to turn on the heat for just a little while this morning. Won't complain after seeing your pictures and hearing about snow further west. Hope you and the critters are OK.

  2. All critters accounted for! We had a little bit of a rush yesterday but it turned out good! My poor dogs suffered the most really....the two older ones don't do storms well! Thanks for checking on us my friend!
